The X100 series has been a longtime favorite of mine since I first bought the X100S in 2015, and with each review and comparison we have performed on the successive models, my appreciation has continued to grow. I like them because they offer a nice blend of compactness, quality, and intuitive controls—a distinctive mix that I have rarely found elsewhere. The defining feature of the X100 series: its hybrid viewfinder. This, along with the small body, large sensor and fixed focal length lens, is core to its shooting experience and its appeal. For those of you who enjoy the AutoISO function, it’s worth noting that minimum shutter speed in auto ISO has been raised on the Fujifilm X100F to 1/500s (previously it was 1/125s).

Optically these conversion lenses are not too different from the mark 1 versions, but they differ by one cool feature – the camera can now detect if you attach either of them, and add correction to the files accordingly. The old versions still fit perfectly, but you have to enable the corrections in the menu as before.
Of course the X100 functions as a street photography camera for the majority of its user base. Its rangefinder’esque look and feel makes you think of Leica, and the silent shutter and small size makes it ideal for many street photographers around the world.

Whether the 5th generation model is worth the extra money ultimately depends on your specific needs and usage. For those primarily interested in street photography, particularly with a preference for the optical viewfinder, the X100F remains an excellent choice that will meet your needs. However, if you plan to use this camera for various occasions, such as reportage, second camera work, or capturing family moments, the X100V has more to offer. If weather sealing is what you require in your Fujifilm camera you will need to look closer at the X-Pro2 – XF23mm f/2 combo. The "relief" of not having to change lenses and just have that field of view is such a liberation to be honest. Coupled with the IQ and the easy handling and the look of the images you get out of this little beauty. Well it certainly makes me want to take it outside and take pictures and in the end that is everything i hoped and wished for. With that said, the X100V takes a significant leap forward in this regard. It can reach a maximum shooting speed of 11fps with the mechanical shutter or an whopping 20fps with the electronic shutter (30fps when using the 1.25x crop mode). This notable improvement is attributed to the new processor and faster sensor readout found in the V model. The FreeSpace DS 100F has passed extensive testing and complies with the following specifications and uses: Suited to a wide range of applications, such as product, landscape, nature and fashion photography as well as portraiture.
