About this deal

The samples Shadow used are often poor quality recorded sources anyway from scratchy old 7" singles, which were then put straight to DAT after coming out of the Akai MPC60 sampler, so you can forget about the 'analogue chain' argument here - this is as good as it is gonna get. It's fun, accessable, joyful and easy to listen to and yet is also complex, dark and involves so many different samples from multiple genres. it flips hip hop inside out all over again like a reversible glove, and again, and again, and each time it's sudden and new. Both the LP and the 7” have been remastered, for the fir st time, from the original studio tapes, revealing clarity unheard until now.

Given the nature of how the music is made, it's not really surprising and not something I'd count as a knock against it.The promotional releases can be found to have both versions of the title, that is with three and five periods. Two of hip hop's most brilliant minds and prolific artists met on 2004's Madvillainy which features music by Madlib and words by MF Doom. will always hold a special place in my heart because it represents the year that I released my first album. But I’m proud of these releases, and I’m hoping that perhaps they’ll bring some much - needed enjoyment to a small percentage of those who remember 1996 and an era of optimism that ‘Endtroducing’ helped soundtrack.

I have the original UK 1st pressing, and this repress, and head-to-head they sound virtually identical. While most of the tracks are compiled by layering samples from vinyl treasures found in used-record bins, the production quality of the mosaic is unmatched. Condensed with urban oscillations and scatological beats, 1996's E ndtroducing shudders with eclectic samples and aural montages that reach beyond the constraints of hip-hop style. The DJ built songs out of layer upon layer of sampled instruments and other sound fragments, most of which he processed, looped and re-arranged far beyond recognition. T]his remains a stone classic, channeling Afrika Bambaataa's genre-splicing, DJ-booth mysticism into a fully realized studio epic. With a message as fragmentary as an overheard conversation, Endtroducing conveys no apparent conclusion, but begs the mind, body, and soul for some rewind. Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description. The only thing I can add to the other reviewers comments is this: Wondering whether it's worth getting rid of the single disc edition you have and replacing it with this?

is the debut studio album of American music producer DJ Shadow, released on November 19, 1996 on the record label Mo' Wax.the original CD issue came in a rather lovely card package and the vinyl package was a thing of rare beauty (yes, I had both. digipack with hype sticker, 36-page booklet with tracklist printed on an insert between digipack and cellophane. Even the iconic cover photograph by B+ was rescanned from the original negative in previously impossible - to - obtain detail.

Enhancing the mix with fundamentals of rock, soul, funk, ambient, and jazz, the modern fusions fail to go unnoticed, even by the casual listener. The narration samples come from numerous sources and keep the listener involved and waiting for resolution. An instrumental album entirely composed of samples and influenced by both prog rock and Public Enemy was, at the time, revolutionary. We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres. What resonated about Endtroducing when it was released in 1996, and what makes it still resonate today, is the way in which it loosens itself from the mooring of the known and sails off into an uncharted territory that seems to exist both in and out of time. Unfolding like a surreal film soundtrack on which jazz, classical, and jungle fragments are artfully blended with turntable tricks and dialogue snippets, ENDTRODUCING.
