About this deal

To be honest, I am not really a huge fan of bully books, and the start of this one was a little rough for me. She ends up locking her emotions inside while at school, earning her a reputation for being “frozen”.

However, her life takes an unexpected turn when she catches the attention of the school's king, Aiden King. He doesn’t outright bully her, but he also doesn’t do anything about it and since one word from him to the other students would stop it, she blames him for starting it and letting it go on. Initially, I expected it to be a pot of cliches – some revenge sort of motives, the heroine and her best friend both outcasts, the hero’s best friends being jerks – the typical bully romance recipe. Aiden is mean, he’s so horrible to Elsa for the majority of the book, however he also is completely obsessed with her and has these softer moments that make me forgive him ever so slightly before he messes up again. Anyways, if you haven't been convinced by now, you'll never be, but you'll be missing out because this is one of the best books I've heard in a while, without a doubt in my mind. What’s worse; It was the wrapping paper of shock value content and a pity party for two of my favorite characters. Deviant King by Rina Kent is one of the first books that made me really enjoy the Bully Romance genre. A poor condition book can still make a good reading copy but is generally not collectible unless the item is very scarce. I am sure there will be more about her that is revealed in the next book since the title is “Steel Princess”! Her actual accent wasn't too bad and the emotions and mood that she injected into the story were spot on.

One thing that I didn’t see until late into the book was that his pawns are far more deadly than his court pieces. I would still recommend listening to this one and I already have the next in series loaded and ready to play. I liked that she showed up everyday to school and did her best to not show that her bullies were getting to her. Written in Elsa’s POV, we follow along as she navigates the final year in Royal Elite, tackle Aiden head on, face some of his immoral dark side, refusing to bow down the entire time.

To guide your way through the 'Bookstagram', our world of books and fiction, the first volume of BOOKSTAGRAM has been published here. I come across gems like this very rarely in the dark romance genre; this book is the real deal, it is no pretender and holds no punches! Keira Stevens is a perfect foil for Shane East as Aiden's enemy/lover Elsa, Beautiful control of her voice, beautiful representation of emotions. Not only bonkers–but also foolishly so that the rest of the Horseman pitied him–which is out of character.

I'm looking forward to seeing how they overcome their challenges and barriers to achieve their HEA (I hope they do! O ther than hanging out with her best friend Kim, she rarely speaks to other people – tagging her as Frozen. So right, that is where Steel Princess left off, and Rina doesn’t disappoint with the story continuation.

The only issue I have is that the male voice is so obviously not even close to a teenagers that I kept thinking he was much older than Elsa. Since that incident, she’s been an outcast, bullied by her peers, isolated except for her best friend Kim, who is also an outcast. His black mind, heart, and soul make him an intriguing and unpredictable character, and I found myself both hating and loving him in equal measure. Xander is dealing with many home life and personal problems in this book that are supposed to clarify why he’s such a douchecanoe. Having lost some pieces of her memories, she’s dealing with a nightmarish past that comes to her in flashbacks at night, and a heart condition.

I think this is one of those bully romances done right – dark hero, suspenseful plot and a strong heroine.Aidan knowing every detail about Elsa the way he took care of her diet knowing what she could eat and what she couldn’t had my heart he wasn’t a complete psychopath but I’m not denying that he’s not one like he’s still 99. I love it when the narrator is as in the dark as you are, and if you do too, then you'll definitely enjoy that aspect of the book.
