Since its inception, the series has captivated audiences in numerous countries, including Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, expanding its reach far and wide. The Now Yearbook series also releases a vinyl selection of its primary release, with an Extra round-up vinyl boxset featuring tracks from the CD-only series, released at the end of 2022.

The longest song is track 8, "Boo'd Up" and the shortest song is track 17, "All The Kids Are Depressed". The United Kingdom series has 100 albums and has been in circulation since 1983; the old country has known what music is for much longer. And because of the micro-era it encapsulates, almost all of the songs are nostalgia-heavy and essential-feeling—for good and bad reasons. Each album is meticulously curated to encompass a dynamic blend of chart-topping hits and hidden gems, offering listeners a diverse musical experience. So, as you’ll see often around the bottom of this list, Now resorted to selecting other tracks from artists who had hits earlier in the year, in the hope that the follow-ups would be as successful as their predecessors. The 4-CD series follows the same general format of the original Special Editions series, with genre, era, and decade collections, but over four compact discs (there is also an abridged vinyl version of Punk and New Wave and Rock), meaning they contain more tracks than the original special editions, but fewer than the Now 100 Hits, which preceded this series. Deleting this artist may remove other artists and scrobbles from your library - please handle this with caution!

In one corner you’ve got “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” by Jennifer Lopez, which was the subject of probably my favorite episode of Making the Video. These compilations are very similar to the anniversary series, however, they contain a lower amount of tracks and retailed much cheaper than the former series. Initially, a special edition of a Now compilation was quite rare, and between 1994 and 2002, there weren't any released at all. and may feature the best closing run of any Now album: Ben Harper’s “Steal My Kisses” to Smash Mouth’s “Then the Morning Comes” to Train’s “Meet Virginia” to Macy Gray’s “I Try” to Hanson’s “This Time Around” to the closing track, Blink-182’s “All the Small Things. July 2019) re-issued on 2-CD - 28 tracks with only Bob Marley and the Wailers and Gary Glitter missing.I could simply print the entire tracklist of Now 37 and it would be a sufficient explanation for why this ranks at the top of this list. Overall, Now 55 is not this high because of the quality of the DJ songs (well, except for “Where Are Ü Now,” which is perfect)—it’s this high because of the charting success of the DJ songs, and the overwhelming commercial success of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud,” which also lands on Now 55. Ultimately though, I went with “Bye Bye Bye” because it’s the song that helped ’NSync snatch the boy band belt from the Backstreet Boys once and for all. The Now Yearbook series continues both forwards, with Now Yearbook 1985 issued in November 2022, and backwards, with the release of Now Yearbook 1979 in September 2022 (an Extra followed in October).
