An LED light bulb can last up to 20 years and use up to 80% less energy than a traditional incandescent light bulb. The reason I started this project was that I wanted a low brightness light to be turned on during the night so that I can see where I go. The preparation time is simple, it requires to test all the circuit before fixing the strip to the bed. The circuit takes about half an hour to complete and verifies that all components are working as expected. Though they might be a little more expensive than their counterparts, they last longer and come with a wide range of features.

Power-saving; Only lights up when it picks up your movement, and auto shut off after leaving, further improving your sleep quality. This is a good idea in case I forget to disconnect the strip from the main circuit when moving the base away from the headboard. Using LED strips has always been a bit of a pain, requiring you to unplug and rearrange the wires every time you want to use the strips in different spots. If you stick the LEDs facing out, all the lower section of the room get illuminated but the light does not go as high as if the LEDs were facing down. I originally intended to put these leds in a plastic bottle but after test run it for less than 5 minutes, the led strips get quite hot, hence I abandon the project.
