SUMMARY: I loved the easiness of it all, the mc, the plot, and it’s also great for when you’re in a reading slump! the only thing i could give it ends with us merit for was the message of breaking the cycle (even that is up for debate). Simply, “It Ends With Us” is about someone who has the support and resources to break out of the cyclical nature of violence.After his date with Lily, Atlas encounters his mother, Sutton, who is at his restaurant to ask Atlas if he knows where his twelve-year-old brother Josh is. It Ends With Us is the first book, and It Starts With Us is the second, and final book in the dualogy. I think it’s important to note that Hoover also paints Lily a very supportive family/friends network—in her instance, her support system in regards to standing up to Rile is his family. Instead of waking her up, Atlas occupies himself by reading some of the journal entries that Lily wrote about Atlas when they were kids. The writing’s also addictive and she did a great job setting the book in Boston, so mad props there.
