Manual focus, except the viewfinder resolution doesn't support the detail required to separate the objects. Panasonic's Lumix DC-S5, which we didn't have space to include, offers a pretty similar video spec (10-bit 4K capture, including 60p from its APS-C crop) but its autofocus isn't quite as effective. We make the originals available for private users to download to their own machines for personal examination or printing (in conjunction with this review).

For longer hours of shooting, combine this with optional VG-C4EM Vertical Grip holding up to two NP-FZ100 batteries, which allows you to shoot two times more shots than with α7R IV. Release time lag is minimised for smooth, responsive flash photography, with continuous flash shooting at up to 10fps . Use the a7iv with the 24-105 in manual focus and you will find that a tree ridge 2 miles away focuses at less than infinity in manual, even zoomed in double. Likewise the AF tracking, which is activated by a tap on the screen and sticks to your subject like glue. This allows you to capture decisive moments — such as motion of wild animals — with subtle details made possible only by the 61.Admittedly, I haven’t used the Alpha 1 since February of this year, but I distinctly remember that camera not being as good at it as this. Even as an experienced enthusiast shooter, it was the simplicity of the AF system I appreciated much more than the extensive (excessive?

Sony A7 IV review | Digital Camera World

It’s noticeably low quality and impossible to determine if shots are truly in focus while in playback mode. This places all three exposure controls — shutter speed, aperture, and ISO — up on top where they are easiest to access. Both the Sony A7 IV and the older A7 III can shoot continuously at 10 frames per second – but there is a BIG difference in the buffer capacity, which is the number of frames they can capture before slowing down.

With the addition of 4K capture at up to 60p and 10-bit video lending greater flexibility to Log footage (and allowing full HLG capture for HDR TVs), the a7 IV is a much more powerful video camera than its predecessors. Continuously shooting compressed RAW plus JPEG to a Sony TOUGH SF-G SD card got me 25 frames before it began to slow down.
