Pumpkin carving is associated with Halloween, but you might be interested to learn that historically, pumpkins are associated with Thanksgiving too! They are one of the six main symbols of Thanksgiving. Oogie's life revolved around gambling, and he loved gambling with others' lives. Ironically, Oogie was unskillful for gambling; on three occasions he rolled snake eyes (although some say he was looking at Santa's chances the first two times, because he laughed after looking at the results), and confessed that he had to resort to deceiving - he slammed his fist upon the table to shake the dice the third time, which resulted in eleven. Oogie was also apparently somewhat lecherous and provocative, which was evident when he is easily preoccupied by Sally's bare (and dismembered) leg. The skull in the center of this pumpkin is lighter because of a pumpkin carving technique called scraping (sometimes referred to as etching).

One thing that makes witch themed pumpkins very distinctive is that they are always wearing a witches hat! Make sure not to forget that detail. Oogie Boogie can detach his shadow and use it for fighting. He has it at one point disguise itself as him. He also uses it to participate in the Halloween Festival. It was also supposedly going to be in the Oogie Boogie Song as a dancer, but was canceled to save time. To some, this made no sense since its appearance in the song was only going to be 17 seconds long and since they finished it they could have edited it in. Oogie appears as a walkaround character in the Disney theme parks, taking the appearance of his neon form. He is incredibly popular amongst guests, and can most often be found for a meet-and-greet and in attractions during the Halloween season. Ed. H. In 2019, Oogie Boogie once again served as the star of a seasonal overlay—Oogie Boogie Bash, in which Oogie takes over the resort and summons the Disney villains to join in the party. One of the attractions featured during the event is World of Color: Villainous, in which Oogie tells the story of a young girl named Shelly Marie, who idolizes Disney villains like Maleficent, Ursula, Jafar, and Dr. Facilier.
