Description

The aluminum housings are pretty minimalistic and feature a matte finish. Build quality is top-notch. The shells are fashioned from a five-axis CNC (computer numerical control) process, with a small L and R circle on the housings denoting the left and right sides respectively. The lower midrange of both In-Ear Monitors sounds pretty close in terms of body and depth, while the Original Timeless has a touch better grade of clarity in this area, when I listen to male voices or instruments such like a viola or acoustic guitar. The upper midrange is where the presentation slightly changes. The Timeless AE offers a bit more brightness, energy and resolution that was fairly audible while listen to female voices such like Adel and Sertap Erener, or to instruments such like flutes, violins or pianos, which is a welcome improvement. There’s sufficient bass texture too, giving bass guitars and synth bass some extra character and shape. For the bassheads out there, the Timeless doesn’t reach that quantity by default but it responds to EQ well. So you can comfortably boost the bass level without fear of distortion. Details & Transparency. 7Hz Timeless is a very competent performer in details retrieval. The more technical the sources, the better the performance. There’s pristine clarity in the handling of Macro and Micro details. This was proven with Sinne Eeg song “We’ve Just Begun”, one of the most complex jazz masterpiece in my collection. Saxophone, Trombones, Piano, Cello, etc. the whole composition of that song has lots of details all over the place – it just need a competent listening device to hear them all. And 7Hz Timeless didn’t miss anything. The Timeless performs very well in the separation department keeping all layers and instruments apart. it is easy to tell what is what in the mix.

As for the IEM form. Pictures made it look a lot bigger, i was expecting something around the size of the Nuratrue Pro but was pleasently greeted by a much smaller sexy little iem.

This lower treble issue is exacerbated by some emphasis near 8KHz that makes the leading edge of cymbal hits too prominent. The shells are made of aviation grade aluminum, CNC machined to resemble a spaceship. The choice of material has a lot to do with sonic tuning as it is for aesthetic reasons. Nonetheless the result is a beautifully constructed IEM that impressed me a lot.

Timeless exceeds in every aspect in technical performance comparing to the Yume midnight. The Moondrops are a level up from Timeless. Timeless being a planar magnetic IEM, it has all properties of what a planar does. Being very precise have a good layering separation and soundstage and also trying to achieve a quarter in space in doing something new in bass region becoming what a planar wasn't expected to be. There is some kind of power and energy which is very unique to ears about the planar Timeless is a Double-sided Array N52 Neodymium Magnet, Ultra-thin Diaphragm 14.2mm Magnetic Planar Driver, with and astonishing 104dB of sensitivity at 14.8 Ohm. I believe this specification alone makes Timeless the most “easily” driven Magnetic Planar IEMs in the market now. The Timeless AE Edition is another great sounding Planar IEM of the company that continues the legacy of the Original Timeless with some slightly but audible improvements especially in the lows and the highs. When you are a fan of the Original Timeless but did wish some extra depth, impact and rumble in the lows and some additional airiness and sparkle in the highs, the Timeless AE edition with its new modular headphone plug design and 2-Pin interface will be a good choice. However, recommend the new AE Edition more to those who didn’t already owned the previous model and are in search for a new Planar IEM.Decent sounding IEM with a fun and entertaining tuning that excels with outstanding details and resolution
