The Uni Jetstream Alpha Gel Grip Ballpoint Pen has not only an ergonomic body but also a smooth and reliable ink formula. sometimes also leaving the pencil in the freezer before use for children who have a loose grasp and need more input to squeeze the pencil This is a consistent struggle for my son, so I’m not successful yet. We have tried different pencil grips, verbal and hand over hand cues, and letting him use the wide markers just to get him writing. Still looking for the magic fit to help him! I work with sen pupils. I find working with shorter pencils or crayons help. Also have used pens that light up when press too hard helpful. We play a game of who gets the least light up in one piece of work.

Using small writing utensils, especially broken crayons to facilitate a more refined grasp and a lot of focus on strengthening of the hand muscles! I like the preprinted worksheets where the students can trace. I also love to use the green line above and red line below to have the student know where to keep their letters. Some students do well with having a small line per letter to stay on. I like to have the students who are having difficulty with pencil grip to use the bigger, chunkier pencils. Sometimes, wrapping duct tape around the area that I want them to hold the pencil works well. Thanks for your OT community here. Love it! In fact, if you swap between pens and pencils often or have a pen or paintbrush you really like, these grips may be exactly what you need, says Karen Jacobs, OT, MS, EdD, an occupational therapist and clinical professor at Boston University. Not only are these grippers inexpensive but they also allow you to keep using the tools you love—even if you’re finding that it is harder to hold them.We love Dr. Grip pens so much that we included two different versions on our list of recommendations. Nothing beats their ergonomic design, easy grip, and perfect weight distribution. and the Dr. Grip Center of Gravity Pen by Pilot is no exception. That said, gel ink does require slightly more pressure to extract from the pen—even with a rolling ball. So, if you have extremely painful fingers or wrists you may want to opt for the Dr. Grip Center of Gravity pen, which is a more traditional ballpoint pen. On pens like the Lamy 2000, the barrel takes a torpedo shape with the nib on the end. There are no steps and often no threads to interrupt the taper all the way from the barrel to the end of the section. In theory this means you get a nice broad section wherever you choose to hold on, with no irritating sharp bits. Other major factors include the length of the nib and the weight/balance of the pen, but ultimately the section is where your fingers sit. If it’s too small, too wide, too short, too tapered, you’ll feel it, and if your grip isn’t comfortable there, it’ll affect how you feel about the rest of the pen, too. The pen grip’s triangular shape provides comfort and ease for a functional grasp. The pen comes already installed on a beautiful designer pen and comes with textured or soft grip options.

The most important things should always be written by hand, don't you agree? Recording precious memories of wonderful trips in a travel journal keeps them alive: it helps you recall the tiniest details and funny situations, even years later. A hand written letter expresses real appreciation and has more impact than a text message. And what’s more, you can keep a letter and carry it with you. Notes written by hand carry more weight than digital ones.the way I grip my pen is weird I guess, because with every other pen (fountain pen or even normal ballpoint pen) the nail of my thumb digs into my pointer finger after a while. It's fine for a couple of minutes but if I'm writing a lot it gets bad..
