About this deal

Reincarnate in Another World: After Shakara defeats the Big Bad once and for all in a Heroic Sacrifice, in the last panels an alien ship crashes down on a planet in another reality where a yellow Shakara emerges from the ashes. The series is the second collaboration between Hachette Partworks and 2000 AD publisher Rebellion Developments, following the success of Judge Dredd: The Mega Collection. It is available in the UK, Ireland and Australia. Forbidden Fruit: Featured in the artwork for Oral Fixation Vol. 2, and referenced in "Pies Descalzos" lyrics (tu mordiste la manzana y renunciaste al paraiso y condenaste a un serpiente siendo tu el que asi lo quiso/trans: you bit the apple and renounced paradise, condemning a snake even though you wanted it). The dying Shakara saved some of their genes and there arose an avenger, Shakara! A skinny machine in their image, he avenged them on all the races who had conspired to wipe them out. He also killed Lara Procopio. Then Eva Procopio, daughter of Lara, sought him out and tried to kill him but failed and is now his prisoner. He tells her the story of the Shakara and decides to forgive and take her home. Who should appear to ruin everything but that mean old Shakara warrior, Cinnibar Brenneka! He wants to kill the Shakara who is the ‘hero’ of the strip. To say why would give it all away.

The theme is revenge. The plot is endless battle with vast armadas all over the place and strange aliens galore. There’s not a human being anywhere. Eva Procopio looks sort of humanoid but with an overlarge chest and bottom, some sort of satire on modern female values perhaps. The art is brilliant insofar as conveying technology, warfare and strange aliens goes. There is nothing else to convey, so the art is brilliant. Whether or not Henry Flint can draw a normal human, a cat, a horse or an armchair is not something you can tell from this. I’m sure he can. Everything is alien, cosmic, gigantic and wonderfully strange. Everything is monochrome except for Shakara’s red eyes, Cinnibar’s blue eyes and their respective red and blue laser beams. The script by Robbie Morrison is very good. Humble Bundle and 2000 ADhave joined forces once again to bring you the very best in comic book storytelling for amazing prices – and the chance to raise money for charity! The lyrics of "Estoy Aquí" ("I'm Here") from Pies Descalzos from talk about wanting to fix a failed relationship. On her next album ¿Dónde Están Los Ladrones?, the song "Si Te Vas" has her telling her love that if he leaves her, she'll have moved on: "I won't (still) be here in the same place". note "Ya no estaré aquí en el mismo lugar" In My Language, That Sounds Like...: When Borat hosted the MTV Video Music Awards, he at one point giggled when saying Shakira's name. He then explained that "Shakira" is Kazakh for "vagina". (It isn't.) At the end of the show, he tells the audience he will later attempt to "Get into Brittany Murphy's 'shakira'." The spine incorrectly showed '79' instead of '63', although the number shown correctly inside as '63' (79 was the volume in the previous issue) - the spine picture is also incorrectly showing that of volume 79. The publisher issued a free replacement copy of this volume with issue 81 ("Flesh")

She's possibly the only person in history to dance with Beyoncé (in the video for their duet "Beautiful Liar") and not get upstaged. An inhabitant of the Astral Plane, Shathra is the “Spider-Wasp” to Peter Parker’s “Spider”. She learned of Spider-man when he strayed from the safe path during visit to the Astral Plane to locate the inter-dimensional kidnapper known as Shade. Shathra immediately realized Spider-Man’s true nature and determined that he would make the perfect meal for her hungry young hatchlings. A later issue introduces two tomb raiders who team up to find the lost treasure of the Shakara homeworld. After facing many perils, they're unceremoniously shot by Buggerian mercenaries. I just finished Shakara a comic by 2000AD and the ending just made me think of Imu. Shakara is a comic about an alien race(the Shakara) that is wiped out by a coalition of advanced alien evil aliens called the Hierarchy. The comic begins by the last human being killed in a slave auction and then a warrior emerges to avenge the enslaved uttering only one word "Shakara". We're shown the various evils of the hierarchy from slavery to planet destruction to extorting less advanced alien civilizations. Shakara is a forbidden name that is not to be uttered anywhere as it is outlawed by The Hierarchy. Telepathic Spacemen: The Psico Collective are one of the most powerful species in the universe due to their innately vast psychic and telekinetic powers. Their bodies are very frail, but their floating eye-shaped heads can combine into a Hive Mind. Hoist by His Own Petard: Shakara stops Brenneka right when he's about to destroy the universe by infecting him with the Red Death, the very plague Brenneka used to wipe out the Shakarans. Blood Knight: Warlord Skulka, Supreme Khan of the Xorn Empire, lives only to kill as many as he can manage, as he loves conquering and destroying civilizations more than anything. In truth, he's become bored after he helped with the destruction of the Shakara, once the strongest species in the galaxy, as he doesn't feel anyone can match them.

Red Eyes, Take Warning: Shakara's eyes glow a bright red, and he's an unstoppable killing machine on a revenge-driven quest of death and destruction. Dark Judges: The Torture Garden (with writer David Hine, in Judge Dredd Megazine #400-409, 2018, 2019)

SHAKARA! - 2000 AD

No Gravity for You: When the Teknosaurs lure Shakara into a trap, he deactivates the Artificial Gravity on the ship to kill them one by one in a zero gravity frenzy. The infamous lyrics about her "small and humble" breasts is often assumed to be a case of translation problems, but the Spanish lyrics are actually the same. note "Suerte que mis pechos sean pequeños, y no los confundas con montañas" Nothing but Skulls: The Overlord is rather amused that the alien tribe he just exterminated had used the Shakaran artifact he was looking for as a place to commit ritual sacrifice in the hopes of warding him off (believing the Overlord to be an angry god), and covered it with a mountain of skulls.

War for Fun and Profit: There is a planet designed to be a total warzone and hired out by a corrupt Mega-Corp to different factions who want to kill each other without having to destroy their own infrastructure. Genocide from the Inside: Cinnibar Breneka, the noble founder of the Shakara Federation, is responsible for its destruction when he united the Shakara's enemies to wipe out his brethren with a Synthetic Plague and destroy his own homeworld. Mind Probe: The Hierarchy use a mind probe device to scan Eva Procopio's mind after she tries to avoid their questions too much. Cat Folk: Valentine, a swaggering alien Professional Killer, recalls how he hooked up with a feline Femme Fatale client in his memoirs. In the first series little is explained about the lead figure other than it is nearly indestructible, seeking out and destroying other aliens for reasons unknown. In the second series the character is shown to be some kind of liquid being encased in the suit. By the third, it becomes clear that 'Shakara' is an instrument of vengeance created by a now-extinct race of the same name, although the being is beginning to think for itself.
