Description

Martin Miller's is a modern take on traditional gin. It has that wonderful juniper dominance of a London dry and it is perfectly balanced, crisp, clean and simply an extravagant gin. Stylish, understated and elegant. This bottle is made even more fab knowing that Ryan Reynolds currently owns the company!

Look how cool this bottle is! We love the stopper and the interesting distilling technique on the label … Aviation is produced in Portland, Oregon, by House Spirits Distillery. It is distilled from neutral grain spirit with 100 percent rye base, an unusual beginning in the gin market. It's flavored with juniper, anise seed, Elettaria cardamom, coriander, lavender, sweet orange peel, and sarsaparilla. It, too, is slightly overproofed, bottled at 42 percent ABV (84 proof), so it's not as delicate as it's often made out to be. This brings us to my newest drink crush: Gray Whale Gin. Distilled in California by Golden State Distillery, Gray Whale takes us on a wild, windows-down kind of ride down the Pacific Coastline, as each bottle is made with a blend of six sustainably sourced California botanicals: juniper, lime, fir tree, almonds, mint, and sea kelp.Since our thirsty food & drink editor’s cup runneth over, here’s a space for her to spill the tea on all of the greatest, tastiest, and trendiest sips. There's really only one thing you'll find here ... NO BAD DRINKS! If you like your gin accompanied by several sides of heavenly tapas then head to Bravas on Cotham Hill – an authentic tapas bar serving proper, Spanish measures of gin from their outstanding gin menu. Psychopomp have concocted a bespoke recipe in collaboration with the restaurant – known as ‘Gin Bravas’ with Mediterranean-style green olive, nora pepper and almond botanicals. Food and drink tours We here at ILoveGin are such super fans of Italian brand Malfy … we have featured all four of the gins below in our boxes but we just can’t decide which is our favourite! What do you think? Smagen af enebær er ikke så dominerende, hvilket gør, at man ikke oplever en tung eftersmag af “(Fyrrenåle (gran)”, men smager derimod de andre friske ingredienser.

Distilled since the 1870s, Tanqueray is now produced at Camron Bridge in Edinburgh, Scotland, one of Europe's largest distilleries. What's most amazing is that this four times distilled gin uses just four botanicals: juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, and licorice. This cosy characterful boozer in Kingsdown may not seem like the obvious choice for an evening of sinking several craft gins, but the pub has a whopping 100 gins to get your chops around. Pump House Once a week we’ll be carefully selecting a bottle of something alcoholic to be our 'drink of the week'. Bottles you’ve probably not tried, made in small batches, by producers who are dedicated to their craft and worth sipping to support...Det er den velkendte smag af frisk citrusskal, peberkorn og sødmen fra de lokale tornblade – der møder dig, når du smager ginnen.

The award-winning Blue Bottle Gin is another boutique gin distilled within the Island that draws inspiration from the beautiful coastline for its handcrafted taste. Alongside the traditional juniper, drinkers can delight in the tropical (almost coconut) scent of the local gorse flowers, which annually turn the Guernsey cliff tops into fields of bright gold. These flavours are complimented alongside the sweetness of nutmeg and hint of cubeb pepper. In the run up to his PhD and post-doc studies in hematopoiesis (the formation of blood cell components from stem cells), Matt spent a summer at Cambridge University on a Royal Society internship studying bugs, specifically flies, and even more specifically, blue bottle flies. Under the microscope, he found the indigo wings of these household nuisances to shimmer intricate patterns of iridescence unique to the majesty of nature, patterns that people peeved by the pest do not perceive. If you enjoy the standard bottle of Beefeater, keep an eye out for the brand's special bottlings. They make an appearance from time to time, and each is worth a taste when the bottle crosses yourpath. Beefeater 24, for example, is a regular offering that is a nice upgrade from the original and the brand often comes out with limited editions. There is a beautiful gin inside this distinct green bottle with its red wax seal. Tanqueray's crisp, dry style is the benchmark for a London dry gin without any citrus in the botanicals. It is a standard to which all other gins are compared and contrasted and also sells for a reasonable price. This gin is rich, warming and all encompassing. It's floral and ever so slightly sweet, a balance which works artfully over just an ice cube if you're so inclined. Once a one-bottle brand, Aviation has expanded its portfolio to include Aviation Old Tom. It's the distillery's take on an old, sweeter style of gin, but they don't add sugars or flavorings, which is customary. Instead, they rely on whiskey barrel aging to bring out an Old Tom taste and accentuate the original Aviation's natural sweetness.

With sales of gin fizzing, we take a look at some of these British spirit innovators who are based on the coast and find out how the location shapes their product. While alcohol was scarce during the war, today there is an abundance of locally produced alcohol and fine-drinking establishments to visit - whether you are a fan of craft beers or artisanal gin. Gin lovers must try one of Guernsey’s very own boutique gins while visiting. Just as Amy V said when she suggested Thomas Dakin Gin for this list – it’s a very smart bottle indeed! How We Met: I'll admit it. I was crushing on Gray Whale Gin long before ever trying the spirit, just after one look at that gorgeous blue bottle. I was already a fan of some other small-batch craft gins distilled in the U.S., but I was particularly intrigued by this gin's unconventional botanicals as well as the brand's incredibly rad, eco-friendly mission. This gin is distilled in a copper pot still named "Marjorie." The botanical list includes juniper, angelica root, cassia bark, cinnamon, coriander seed, lemon peel, licorice, nutmeg, orange peel, and orris root. It is bottled at a standard 40 percent ABV (80 proof). Technically, one could make gin in a matter of hours, but Blue Bottle settles in stainless steel for three weeks before bottling. According to Matt, “There’s some alchemy in storing the gin that I don’t completely understand. The flavours blend and develop much better in those tanks, not unlike a stew which usually tastes better the day after it’s made.” Dingle Distillery is located on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, and this spirit is no less impressive, as a growing number of taste awards will testify. A traditional dry gin, its botanicals are chosen to reflect the Kerry landscape and include rowan berries, bog myrtle and heather. The recommended serve is with large cubes of ice, a wedge of fresh orange, and juniper berries.(€36/70cl, dingledistillery.ie) Distilling proves a much faster process as well, especially when compared to the brewing process for lager, a German word that means “storeroom” which refers to the fact that the style of beer must be stored. Randall’s Breda lager, for instance, takes five weeks to ferment and mature whereas Matt can turn around an ale in about five days. På The Three Fingers Distillery, hvor ginnen produceres, er “hands on” utrolig vigtigt i selve produktionen af denne fantastiske gin.Alle flasker har deres eget personlige batchnummer – hvilket gør hver flaske helt unik.
