About this deal

Babylon comes to UK 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray courtesy of Paramount. The Ultra HD Blu-ray delivers a glorious native 4K HDR presentation with Dolby Vision. BABYLON follows an ambitious cast of characters — The Silent Film Superstar (Brad Pitt), the Young Starlet (Margot Robbie), the Production Executive (Diego Calva), the Musical Sensation (Jovan Adepo) and the Alluring Powerhouse Performer (Li Jun Li) — who are striving to stay on top of the raucous, 1920s Hollywood scene and maintain their relevance at a time when the industry is moving on to the next best thing. Please Note: Paramount Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray I reviewed in this Post. The opinions I share are my own. The Costumes of Babylon— Discover how costume design was fundamental to character development and the challenges that went into creating over 7,000 costumes for the film. Follow Manny, a film assistant, and the diverse group of actors, producers and others who he meets who are trying to achieve success while unleashing every one of their deepest, decadent and depraved desires. purpose, but it nevertheless proves to be a somewhat engaging blend of true-life chronicling and fictional characterization. The film is not for

Scoring Babylon — Take a peek into Justin Hurwitz’s musical process to understand the artistry behind composing an iconic score that further elevates the film. The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of ‘Babylon’ includes a few worthwhile extras which can all be found on the included Blu-ray Bonus Disc. Included on the release are a handful of ‘Deleted and Extended Scenes’ from the film (running approximately 9 minutes in length altogether) along with a few Behind the Scenes Featurettes that explore bringing the film to life and featuring interviews/comments with the cast and crew, plus behind the scenes footage and more. The included Featurettes are ‘A Panoramic Canvas Called Babylon’ (running approximately 31 minutes), ‘The Costumes of Babylon’ (approximately 3 minutes) and ‘Scoring Babylon’ (approximately 2 minutes). This UHD release of Babylon contains all of its extras on a second Blu-ray disc; the feature film discs (both Blu-ray and UHD) contain only the A Panoramic Canvas Called Babylon (1080p, 30:50): The "wild time" that was Hollywood of the 1920s: life and partying,But that's not to say there's nothing going on around the perimeter. The entire 360-degree soundstage never gets a rest as bands play, guns fire, and cars speed by. It makes for a beautiful cacophony of auditory madness. Overall, ‘Babylon’ is an intriguing look at one of the most outrageous times in Hollywood and showcases the final days of the silent film era and the beginning of talkies overtaking the industry that never shies away from the graphic, sex and drug-fueled insanity and debauchery that accompanied it. Those who are bothered by notably graphic sexual content and nudity that goes far beyond what we often see in theatrical films with plenty of drug use and some unsettling violence accompanying it may want to skip this one, but for those of you that aren’t bothered by such things (or the 3 plus hour runtime) ‘Babylon’ is recommended. It’s a unique, wild, fascinating and occasionally disturbing tale that’s boosted by great direction from talented filmmaker Damien Chazelle, not to mention a talented cast led by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva, as well as a beautiful approach that features some breathtaking sets and costumes throughout. flesh tones are good within any given lighting condition, and white balance is strong. The image shows no major print anomalies or encode artifacts. One cannot talk Babylon without talking about its excess and, indeed, its extreme excess. In some ways the film brings to mind The Wolf of Wall Street, certainly a film in a whole different league in sheer scale in the opening sequence is nearly unrivaled for the orgy of audio that pours into the listening area. Between the raucous partygoers and the

This is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, set at the end of the Silent Era, only without Tarantino's sense of fun, or Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby, lensed through unflinchingly adult eyes, more than prepared to depict orgies in all their debauched 'glory' rather than pretend all rich people want to do is sip champagne. There's even streaks of Scorsese's Wolf of Wall Street in here, particularly as Chazelle unravels a group of individuals who you don't always feel you like very much, even if you're still compelled to watch them as they celebrate the highs and snort the lows.

Babylon' follows an ambitious cast of characters -- The Silent Film Superstar (Brad Pitt), the Young Starlet (Margot Robbie), the Production accurate. Certainly, in some of the darker scenes, especially in the first act where warm lights and shadowy corners define the look of the party, the capturing nicely defined details and textures with film-quality ease and efficiency. To be sure the picture is not the most abundantly sharp at every stop, a more personal nature for the characters as they find themselves in trouble beyond their careers. These elements feel less than enthusiastic in By day, they make movies and attempt to transition from the silent, gray era to one of loud sound and vibrant colors. By night, they gather in throngs to consume alcohol and drugs, dance and enjoy the sins of the flesh.
