Jordan entered into the Ohio house in 1995 as the youngest member of the self-described “Caveman Caucus” that warred against moderate Republican governors as though they were socialists. His feud with the Republican speaker John Boehner of his home state, which ultimately resulted in Boehner’s quitting in sheer exasperation, stemmed from Jordan’s contempt.
