About this deal

At my 2-years working in a plumbing merchant, we sold a tonne of Salamander’s pumps. The majority of what we sold were shower booster pumps, but home booster pumps were popular too. RIGHT PUMP RANGE: Our Right Pump range offers the most powerful performance of all of our shower pumps. These pumps will boost hot and/or cold water supplies to a variety of domestic outlets, even in whole house applications. These pumps are only suitable for a gravity-fed system, with pumps available in both positive and negative (universal) heads. With extremely quiet designs, these pumps are perfect for boosting a house. The chances are, your property is suffering from “slightly low” pressure, or a “recent drop”. As long as these suppliers are providing you with mains water pressure within the guidelines of their terms and conditions, you’re on your own! If any of the below sound familiar, there’s a good chance mains water pressure is to blame: Read our full blog article on how the Salamander HomeBoost can really help with low water pressure problems. Unvented systems require a separate hot water cylinder to store a quantity of hot water at mains pressure.

Adios to ridiculously slow filling baths, showers that are little more than a spray, and a whole host of combi boiler problems! Noise If you’re looking to enhance your water flow, there are various applications and benefits to consider when boosting it with the HomeBoost inline pump.

These systems are identified by a hot water cylinder stored in an airing cupboard, and a large cold water storage tank, often located in the loft. The HomeBoost inline pump’s average lifespan depends on various factors, such as usage and maintenance. However, on average, these pumps can last several years and have a 3-year warranty, providing reliable and efficient water flow to your house. Are There Any Specific Maintenance Requirements for the Homeboost Pump?

Choose TankBoost for a busy home, or when you need to boost water to multiple floors to achieve that enhanced shower performance, even when other outlets are running at the same time. Choose a pumped model when mains water pressure and/or flow are low – or when you are not sure on your mains water pressure/flow. Choose unpumped only when flow is more than 9 l/min and pressure is 2.0 bar. This intelligent pump functions at 1.6 bar closed head; it will typically boost pressure by up to 1.5 bar while regulating flow up to 12 litres/min to ensure it complies with water fitting regulations. It recognises when pressure and flow are low and quietly boosts the performance of the incoming mains water, either directly or indirectly via the combination boiler, to 12 litres per minute. They are manufactured in the UK using top quality parts which are mostly supplied by the EU. The parts are extensively tested to ensure a long lasting and reliable product.

Installation

Installing a Home Boost isn’t particularly difficult. With a few tools, and a bit of DIY know-how, you can install the Salamander Home Boost, without paying a plumbing or heating engineer. When considering boosting your water flow, it’s important to compare the HomeBoost inline pump with other available options to make an informed decision. Here are some other options to consider: Flush the inlet pipework and fully fill the pump with water by opening all the water outlets before electrically switching the pump on. It is critical to discharge water through all the cold outlets on a whole house application and all the hot outlets for a combi boiler boost application, using natural flow before switching the pump on electrically. This will ensure that the air has been discharged from the connecting pipe work and pump chamber. Link multiple vessels together to increase performance. Only one vessel should be a pumped model in this scenario. There are three main types of hot water system in the United Kingdom – gravity fed, mains fed: combination boiler, and mains fed unvented cylinder.
