Description

When your kitten is around 4 months old, its growth starts to slow down but its activity levels continue to be as high as ever! During this time, your kitten requires tailored nutrition such as this Royal Canin Kitten to help support healthy development of bones, muscles, organs, immune system and nervous system. Easy to chew: You can use soft, wet foods like our Mother & Babycat Ultra Soft Mousse, which are easy to eat and will help your kitten transition to solid food. Or you can use dry foods. Bear in mind that dry food is harder to chew, so if you decide to use it, start by adding water or a kitten milk replacer to moisten it. Over time, progressively add less and less liquid until your kitten is only eating dry food. Kitten Breed: Royal Canin dry kitten food specially formulated to meet the needs of young Maine Coon, Persian and British Shorthair cats In the first 4 weeks of their life, your kitten goes through an intense growth spurt that helps to build a strong skeleton and muscle mass. For this, they need protein and other key nutrients from their diet, such as antioxidants for immune system support. During this period, they should be fed exclusively on their mother’s milk or a kitten milk replacer.

Royal Canin Kitten dry cat food has been specially developed to meet the nutritional needs of kittens in the "consolidation phase", which occurs between the 4th and 12th months of life. Ingredients: Dehydrated poultry protein, rice, vegetable protein isolate*, animal fats, maize flour, hydrolysed animal proteins, wheat flour, maize gluten, yeasts and parts thereof, beet pulp, vegetable fibres, fish oil, soya oil, minerals, fructo-oligosaccharides (0,38%), psyllium husks and seeds, hydrolysed yeast (source of manno-oligo-saccharides), yeasts extracts (source of betaglucans), marigold extract (source of lutein).*L.I.P.: protein selected for its very high assimilation. To cater to each cat’s individual preferences, Royal Canin Kitten Dry Food is also available as wet food in delicious gravy or succulent jelly. If you’re considering mixed feeding, simply follow our feeding guidelines to ensure your cat gets an accurate amount of both wet and dry food for optimal benefit. The kibble also contains nutrients such as vitamins C and E, which help your kitten to develop an optimum immune system. Omega-3 fatty acids support the natural development of the brain and promote healthy eyesight. A combination of beneficial prebiotics (MOS) and highly-digestible proteins ensures that Royal Canin Kitten helps your young cat to achieve an ideal gut flora balance, boosting healthy digestion. As well as satisfying your kitten’s unique nutritional requirements, their first food should be suitable for their young digestive system and teeth. For felines in general, the smell and texture of food are bigger deciding factors than taste. As kittens retain their milk teeth until 4-6 months old, it’s important to select a dry formula that is easy to chew and complement it with a wet formula that eases the weaning process. It is beneficial to introduce your kitten to wet food early as it can have health benefits and may be difficult to introduce later in life. If you’re worried you don’t know what to feed your new kitten and when, there are a few things you should know: From birth to adulthood, there are different ways you can support your cat to be healthy and content, including their diet and how they develop a relationship with their food. Feeding your kitten up to four weeks old

The kibble of Royal Canin Kitten has been specially developed for the small jaws of kittens. It also provides a mechanical brushing effect as your cat chews, which can support optimum dental hygiene in kittens. The high energy content in this food is purposely formulated to align with your kitten’s high level of activity. Care Nutrition: whether its your cat’s oral, digestive, urinary, skin, coat or anti-hairball care you wish to focus on, here at zooplus Royal Canin Feline we have an option ideal for your needs.

You should also consider your cat’s lifestyle when feeding them as an adult cat, from around 12 months onwards. Indoor cats with sedentary lifestyles need less energy than outdoor cats, so it’s important to give them an appropriate portion to avoid them gaining weight and suffering from connected health problems. Mother & Babycat: product range featuring a milk substitute for kittens from birth to weaning, as well as a complete dry food for gestating and lactating queens and kittens between 1 and 4 months This tailored Royal Canin Kitten food contains tailored levels of protein, minerals and vitamins, all designed to meet the increasing energy needs of your kitten and support healthy bone and muscle growth. After they have been weaned, your kitten will now be on a solid food diet. This may be a dry food diet, a wet food diet, or as with many cats, a mixed diet. Royal Canin offers a range of dry and wet kitten foods, formulated to support healthy growth and development during this period. You may decide to use a Mother and Babycat food for both mother and baby. What to feed a kitten from 4 months to 12 months If you choose to get your cat neutered, there is the risk they’ll gain weight rapidly after the procedure as their energy expenditure reduces by 30%, yet their appetite increases by up to 26%. Choose a food that’s specially formulated for sterilised cats, and which is appropriate for their breed and gender, and monitor their weight closely.

Royal Canin offers a selection of high-quality wet and dry kitten food that has been carefully developed to meet all of your growing cat's nutritional needs. The full range of Royal Canin Kitten dry food includes specific diets for neutered kittens and young purebred cats, as well as a great-tasting kibble suitable for all kittens in their second stage of development, from 4 to 12 months old. The unique blend of nutrients in this food helps to support your kitten's digestive health, while the special antioxidant complex promotes a healthy immune system. Alongside Royal Canin dry kitten food, here you can also find handy pouches of wet kitten food with tasty chunks of meat in jelly or gravy, which provides all the necessary nutrients for optimal health and vitality in this important growth phase.

Kitten Health: perfectly sized kibble for small kittens, with a balanced mix of vital nutrients and minerals to support good health As kittens are growing rapidly, and their digestive and immune systems are developing slowly, they have very specific nutritional needs that are different from adult cats. In particular, kittens need a diet with a higher energy and protein content, plus vitamins and minerals that support the immune system and the development of healthy organs, muscles and skeleton. Kitten: give your kitten the best possible start in life with this Royal Canin feline kitten range, with special options for sterilised kittens and with tailored boxes to set you off in the right direction.
