There is no battery in the case, to charge the brush and anything connected via the USB cable the case has to be connected to mains power.

Whilst I do agree that it will have some impact on how well plaque can be removed, there is little evidence that I have seen that highlights or confirms that additional brush head movements are that beneficial in plaque removal. 1) Features: Oral-B Pro 2000 vs 3000 vs 2500
