Features of the Mini Micron Bite Alarm include; a volume control button with four settings as well as a tone control button, also with four settings. This allows you to customise your alarm to your preferences and surroundings. For example, late-night angling where there are neighbouring anglers may call for a lower tone and volume for minimal disturbance. The Piezo Speaker also ensures for crisp sound. That's not the alarms fault though, user error surely as they must be set too sensitive for the conditions. I've probably done 20 nights and days, and the receiver is still showing batteries at 'full' level. Easy to set up, four sensitivity options, lowest is a bleep every 3cm and highest is a bleep about every 5mm.

They do go LOUD though. Can't test range as didn't get the reciever. Going to be giving these as an xmas gift, but really good bits of kit for the money. Reported to supplier but they seem to think it's not a problem. I also bought an additional alarm to make it a 3 rod set but the additional alarm would not sync with the volumeless receiver. I bought another receiver and the additional alarm sync immediately but the 2 rod set ones dont sync with that receiver. I think it's fare enough, I recon most alarm manufacturers would say the same. The RX+'s are top of the range and price, so one would imagine a superior receiver strength compared to the mid range Mini Micron X, hence being more susceptible to vegetation, height, distance etc. I have been a Fox alarm user since the original MMXR's and would confidently use them, unless you are casting out then going home to wait for a bite, the receiver would be good in any sensible fishing situation. Only one way for you to find out if any alarm on the market meets your requirement is to buy a set and try
