About this deal

It’s my final season to prove myself before the MLB Draft. The last thing I need is a distraction–and especially not one as tantalizing as Mia di Angelo.

penny, on the other hand, was just as charming as cooper. i personally loved everything about her. she was sassy, determined, funny, creative, and utterly romantic. every part of the relationship she had with cooper was unbelievably and undeniably cute. their ability to bond with each other as friends and lovers was so admirable. i loved how vulnerable penny allowed herself to be, there was still pieces of her that were broken from a previous relationship (and some other things in her life) and she decided it was right to take care of herself, to try to make herself bigger and better than before. penny's therapist had my whole entire heart, she was the best <3 Early morning: Some people find that reading in the morning helps them start their day with a positive and productive mindset. sebastian is a 1200000/10 book boyfriend. he was SO sweet, spicy, supportive, possessive and dominating when it mattered, and so protective of mia. a lot of the story is about mia’s bisexuality and how her family isn’t supportive of that and he doesn’t hesitate to stand up for her. his family and friends are also hesitant to accept her after she essentially ghosted him and he defends her every single time. SUCH an amazing book boyfriend, i can’t.

Full disclosure: I DNF’d this book before I could find out if the FMC was going to be held accountable for treating the MMC terribly. Based on this influx of books of MMCs being treated like garbage and FMCs never being held accountable for terrible behavior, I sincerely doubt it. The best time to read a book depends on your personal schedule and preferences. Here are some suggestions: The boy fell hard and don’t we love it. Seb is now my fave of the Callahan. Behind his positive and goofy character, is such a broken soul and his vulnerability throughout the book was so raw. First of all, thank you Grace for trusting me to read your book while you wrote it. (Yes, I read this book multiple times LOL) Girlfriend, you are something else! I’m so glad to connect with you through bookstagram.

I fell in love with this series from the moment I started it, and I was SO excited for Stealing Home. I also had a feeling this book would be my favorite… AND I WAS RIGHT 🤭 This is the third book in the Beyond The Play Book series, that just keeps getting better. We meet Sebastian and Mia throughout the series and I loved getting to know this passionate pair so much! And that ending!! Let me tell you, I did not expect to cry at all and it had me in TEARS. But I need a word with the author, that epilogue felt a little unfinished. Before bedtime: Many people find that reading before bedtime helps them unwind and relax, which can promote better sleep.Sweet, sweet Sebastian. I liked the internal conflict he had throughout the book of baseball vs cooking. I liked how he was self aware enough to go after what he wanted in life. What I didn’t like was how his “golden retriever” personality was portrayed. You can be a sweet guy without being, sorry, pathetic. And the pining he had for Mia was honestly pathetic. They had zero chemistry and we just didn’t get to see their relationship grow in a way I wish it would have. He was happy to accept crumbs from her and she just wasn’t worth it. I felt like he was constantly censoring himself around her or changing himself just to hold onto her when she gave nothing in return. Oh his sister in law is pregnant? How exciting! Oh wait, Mia makes the entire thing about her. Unsurprised.

PLUS PLUS!!!! HOLD THE PHONE AND SIT DOWN BECAUSE WHAT YOU WILL FIND OUT WITH BEX !!!! AHHHHH!! Lets just say, you better read this book now. i really enjoy how different cooper was from his older brother james and penny was from bex, they weren't a carbon copy of the same character. their personalities were able to shine through and we were able to truly love the characters. there was a different plot, different characters but it still remained in the same setting. authors who can build worlds like that are utterly talented in my book. During the day: If you have a flexible schedule, you may find it helpful to take breaks during the day to read a book. Something I loveedddd was that there was no 3rd act breakup, these two were really mature and communicated most things, and loved how they didnt make the dad aka coach force them to breakup or something, and turns out he was happy for them. As for the drama that pushed the narrative along, well, I could take or leave some of it, but for the most part I liked that Bex and James stayed true to themselves, facing most of their trials and tribulations together as a unit… even when I didn’t quite agree with their behaviour or decisions.breakaway wasn't just some fifty shades of grey, there was a reason for the season. i personally think that aspect of the book pulled cooper and penny closer together in their relationship. penny had to gradually build some type of trust with cooper to continue guiding her through the list she'd made. their relationship blossomed as that friendship, trust, and love did. I wanted to love this book. I really did. But it just fell so flat for me. I didn’t like James’ book but then LOVED Cooper’s so I came in with hopes that Sebastian’s book would go along with the momentum of the previous book. It did not. For a few reasons: Cooper was just such a lovable character. So sweet, patient and understanding. The best dirty talker, and he was just such a lovable dork. Penny was also such a fiery fmc, loved how she handled her path to recovery from her past, and she was both funny and supportive. i don’t know what i was expecting from this book…but it certainly wasn’t what i got. i came to this book for it to be a pass-time. something trashy. something i planned on only reading half of because i’d get bored…however, this surprised me. it was actually pretty good. She’s my coach’s daughter, but from the moment she grabs me on the ice rink, she’s the only thing on my mind. She wants me to introduce her to all the things she’s been dying to experience in the bedroom. If I say yes, I’ll be relaxed on the ice again – but if her dad finds out, I can kiss any chance of being captain goodbye.
