Form into burger shapes –as big or as small as you like and fry on the Cadac’s smooth frying surface in hot oil till golden and crispy on the outside. The 400 CV is designed to take the Campingaz ‘easy clic’ valve cannisters like the CV470, so you don’t need a hose and regulator – this simplifies the operation a bit. but costs a bit more than the standard 400 which does need a regulator. Most stoves use either canisters of gas (propane, butane or a mix of the two) or liquid fuel (such as kerosene or paraffin). Gas canisters usually clip or screw onto the stove. They’re small, lightweight and don’t leak. Often, stoves are only compatible with one kind of fuel or brand, so always ensure you buy the right fuel canister for your particular stove. And please do read the warning that follows. Some cheaper versions of these stoves can explode or set on fire. We’ve been getting a stream of scary stories from readers since posting Jim’s warning (see next).

We use the stove with the legs folded inside when we want to tabletop-cook. You do need to position it so the gas connector sits over the edge of the table. It won’t work with a high-pressure model because the canister sits underneath between the legs. What we liked Our main gripe is with the windshield/lid, which is held in place by one very small catch that slips into a tiny groove. Why they didn’t put one on the other side to make the lid less wobbly, we’ve no idea. It tends to give the cooker an unstable feel. The Trangia takes about 7-8 minutes to boil 1 litre of water which is more than double the time of the gas burners. You literally just top it up with the alcohol of your choice and seal it shut – these things don’t leak which is great. Our LP versioncame with a carrybag, a set of basic instructions (no recipes), a bottom deflector and top deflector, a grille, a reversible griddle/frying pan, a lid that doubles as a wok or large pan and a pizza or baking stone.

Pepper to season. Try pimenton too – smoked paprika adds a bit of depth, especially if you haven’t used smoked fish. And a squeeze of lemon can lift the dish. Cadac offer an extensive range of "Adventure To Go" products that fulfils the growing needs, worldwide, for people to 'escape' from the congested, cloned, time-starved lifestyle. People need an easy, affordable and universally accessible way to get more value from their precious leisure moments. Cadac Barbecues innovative, quality range of cooking, camping and accessories, has been developed and designed, with the growing need for outdoor comfort and convenience, in mind. Enjoy the adventure of new discoveries with us. There are two versions of the Safari Chef 2 – low pressure and high pressure. The low pressure version requires a regulator and hose which are sold separately and can be used with both standard screw-top cannisters or plugged directly into your caravan gas outlet. The Cadac Safari Camping Stove HP (High pressure) can screw directly into cannisters without a regulator, but costs a bit more to buy. We compared the brands’ published boil times with our own experiences and generally, as we suspected, the cheaper the design, the longer it took to reach temperature. The testing of stoves also happened to coincide nicely with our testing of the best camping food – we ate thousands of calories so that you don’t have to. They are not easy clean, they are in fact a nightmare. I know of other families who avoid using their bbq because of this and use the paella pan.

Firstly there’s a gas hob with pot support to use it just like a regular gas stove. Using the Cadac as a Gas BBQ

If you have some ready-cooked noodles, you could add these to the stirfry before adding the dressing. Just stir well and heat through. At a push you could also use the George Foreman to heat through a saucepan of soup, but it’s not really designed for this. A dedicated hob is probably better suited if you want to boil water or just heat through rather than sear. Propane is easy to get hold of and burns well but liquid fuel performs better at low temperatures. Liquid fuel canisters are usually connected via a hose to the stove and are refillable. We like stoves that feature a Piezo-igniter (a push-button starter) as it’s useful if you forget to bring matches along. Once lit, some stoves burn with a blue light while others make a roaring noise. Gorgeous and creamy and fishy and smoky all at once. Delicious with crusty bread and a green salad on the side.

Given the opportunity, we love to cook by flame when outdoors. Unfortunately, that's not always possible or practical. We’ve not yet used a Cadac ourselves, but we have heard a lot about them, know people who love their Cadac stove, and we were very impressed when Cadac took us through their stove system at Camping World. What makes a Cadac special? The 400CV is a great BBQ and in some ways better than the Cadac. Yes we said it! For instance the lid has an in-built thermometer which allows you to set your cooking temperature accurately. The piezo ignition worked flawlessly on our test unit, and we liked the convenience of the gas can being underneath the BBQ rather than to the side (which is also available on the high pressure version of the Cadac). It's lightweight when in its bag, making it practical to take for days out, such as to the beach. Cooking Versatility Our LP (low pressure) barbecues run off either Butane or Propane, which regulates between 28 mBar and 37 mBar, which are the UK legal limits, and the two most mainstream and widely used gasses.

Now this isn’t like a normal roasting pan. It has a special channel in it that you fill with water. The only problemis keeping raw fishcool before you cook.Have a look at our article on buying a camping fridge, or even better, camp next to a fishing boat. Campingaz are a massive brand and so they were never going to let Cadac monopolize the gas BBQ camping sector. With the Campingaz Party Grill 400 CV grill stove they’ve pulled a blinder. Add the chunkier vegetables that will take more cooking and cook till they’re losing a bit of their crispness. So, what do you get? Well, it comes in a large box, and a little bit of assembly is required. Watch our video below that shows how to assemble the Party Grill. Our first test was a litre of water, which took eight minutes to boil with a slight wind. A windbreakmakes a difference. Using either the Cadac’s deep pan/wok or your own pan on the Cadac’s pot-stand, heat the butter or oil and add the bacon and onion. Cook until they’re starting to brown/crisp. The Party Grill has several different hot plates and ways of working – for instance you can use it as a traditional hob to heat a pan or boil water (4 mins 20s for 1 litre of water). There is a reversible BBQ grill and griddle plate and the lid can double as a wok. This means you can cover all bases on the cooking front. You can also use the lid as a windshield; this way the gas flame does not blow out while cooking. After use, you can close the lid again with the handy closing clip. An update to the traditional alcohol burner style all-in-one camping stove, this stylish, super light design from Primus comes with a small but mighty 2000W piezo controlled gas burner that can boil a litre of water in just four minutes.
