T-Shirts. Oh sure, a t-shirt is a t-shirt, right? Not when it comes to baby t-shirts. These t-shirts could have side snaps, snaps at the crotch (also known as infant bodysuits, Onesies, creepers) or over-the-head openings. If you have a child who is allergic to metal snaps (they leave a red ring on the skin), you might want to consider over-the-head t-shirts. (FYI: While some folks refer to Onesies as a generic item, the term Onesie is a registered trademark brand by Gerber.)

Different versions for different folks. The Bassinest comes in three versions: the basic model (called the Essentia), a deluxe version (Premiere), and the Luxe. The latter two versions add vibration, sounds and lullabies, nightlight and additional storage. Those are nice—but if you just want a no-frills bassinet, the basic model would do fine as well. The 2019 version of this seat adds Graco’s “Extend2Fit” feature that allows an extra five inches of legroom, thanks to an expanding base. Now the seat can be used for up to 50 lbs. rear-facing (the previous 4Ever stopped at 40 lbs). Gowns. These are one-piece gowns with elastic at the bottom. They are used as sleeping garments in most cases. (We’ll discuss more pros/cons of gowns later in this chapter.) How many? Only buy one of these if you live in a climate where you need it. Even with a Colorado winter, we got away with layering clothes on our baby, then wrapping him in a blanket for the walk out to a warmed-up car. If you live in a city without a car, you might need two or three snow- suits for those stroller rides to the market.

5. Our other books!

How many? Skip the drool bibs. The exception: if your baby really can’t keep dry because he’s drooling the equivalent of a bathtub full every day, consider buying a few of these. When baby starts eating solid foods, you’ll need at least three or four large bibs. One option: plastic bibs for feeding so you can just sponge them off after a meal. Hard to clean. To clean the cloth parts of the bassinet, you have to remove them by unscrewing various screws. HALO could make this process easier.

The all-in-one car seat is the Fountain of Youth for car seat makers—the mythical seat that works from birth to college (ok, as a belt-positioning booster to 120 lbs., or when kids age out of booster seats and can correctly fit in a regular seat belt. That’s usually around age ten or later). Number of compartments. Most have three compartments, but a couple had four or an additional dispenser for a one bottle serving. If you are out for a long day or have twins, four compartments are better than three. New recommendations for baby feeding, from baby food processors to storage ideas for home-made baby food. When it comes to keeping children entertained, a little imagination goes a long way, so to help keep kids inspired for hours, look no further than B&M’s incredible range of toys and games! How many? Three to four pairs are all you’ll need at first, since baby will probably be dressed in footed sleepers most of the time. CHEAT SHEETS for your baby registry—create a baby registry in minutes with our good, better, best ideas. Sweaters. How many? Most parents will find one sweater is plenty (they’re nice for holiday picture sessions). Avoid all- white sweaters for obvious reasons!

Drool bibs. These tiny bibs are intended for small infants who drool all over everything. Or infants who spit-up frequently. Our opinion: they’re pretty useless—they’re too small to catch much drool or spit-up. Yes, a baby book that actually answers the big question about having a baby: How am I going to afford all this? Good but not Great clothes were pretty good, just not as soft or as stylish as Best Bets. The Skip-It brands were most likely the poorest quality: they shrunk in the wash, pilled up or fell apart. Inconsistent sizing was also a problem. Which piece are you? Scotty dog? Top hat? Get the gang together for guaranteed fun with Monopoly board game, a family classic for between 2-6 players. While we recommend the HALO Bassinest, we say pass on their “newborn insert,” an accessory designed to create a smaller space inside the bassinet for newborns. This inserts attaches to the side of the bassinet and has mesh sides.

Graco clearly has put a lot of thought into the 4Ever. Little touches like the harness that stores away in booster mode (you don’t have to remove it from the seat) are very nice. Unlike the giant SmartSeat, the 4Ever is easier to fit in a vehicle in rear-facing mode. The steel reinforced frame and EPS-lined seat are pluses. You also get premium “push-on” LATCH connectors, which you would expect at this price point. For some reason, baby clothing companies have yet to synchronize their watches when it comes to sizes. Hence, a clothing item that says “six-month size” from one manufacturer can be just the same dimensions as a “twelve-month size” from another. Ease of use. The lids on all the dispensers we tested were supposed to rotate to direct the spout over each compartment. Some were easier to rotate than others.

Lower profile also great for shorter parents. If you are under 5’5”, you may find reaching into a standard-size stationary crib challenging. Since most cribs sit a foot or two off the floor and drop-side cribs were phased out in 2011, shorter parents may find it difficult putting baby in a standard crib when the mattress is in its lowest position. At only 34” tall, the Hudson sits low to the ground making it much easier to put baby into and out of the crib. Migration of formula. All the dispensers we tested had some migration of formula from one compartment to another. We looked for dispensers that had the LEAST migration. How many? At first, you’ll probably need only three sets of towels and washcloths (you get one of each per set). But as baby gets older and dirtier, invest in a few more washcloths to spot clean during the day.

5. You’re going to spend quality time with your washer.

How many? Since these are really play clothes and small infants don’t do a lot of playing, we recommend you only buy two to four coveralls for babies less than four months of age. However, if your child will be going into daycare at an early age, you may need to start with four to six coveralls. Join the world of Barbie for endless fun with a range of themed playsets and dolls. Whether you're looking to inspire your little one to become a doctor or teacher with the Barbie Careers Playset, or they want to showcase their style with a Barbie Extra Doll, children will love to play and let their imagination run wild. Sounds/lights turn off after 30 minutes. This is a battery saving feature, of course. But it also means kiddos can wake up when this stops!
