ITV bosses reportedly granted permission for the presenter to take leave indefinitely after the incident. ITV have released a statement this morning after a 36-year-old man was accused of charges including soliciting to commit murder and incitement to commit kidnap.

TV stars from the ITV family have sent messages of support to Holly Willoughby after Gavin Plumb's arrest.It is not known how police became aware of the alleged kidnap plot – but it has been said that digital devices and a mobile phone were seized.
