To test each ball’s ability to handle such moisture, we measured out a full glass of water — exactly 18 ounces, that we would pour on each ball. We then placed each ball into a turkey roasting pan. The roasting pan’s purpose was to give the water a place to go when poured on the ball, but also, not submerge the bottom of the ball in water. There’s no reason to believe it won’t endure long-term use, either. The only negative about the Molten, if there is one, is that it’s the international and Olympic standard, not the NBA/NCAA one. If you’re training to ball in college or the NBA, it’s recommended you train with the official balls in those arenas. As for the redesigned TF-1000 basketball, it comes in two variants: The Spalding TF-1000 “Classic” and the Spalding TF-1000 “Legacy.” Now, in our opinion, the deeper channel design of the “Legacy” should not be worth that much, and it’s not like the “Classic” doesn’t have deep enough channels, to begin with. The choice will ultimately be up to you since some people like a basketball with a wider and deeper channel design, while some like it as it is. Tip: When buying a balloon dip the needle in glycerin, this will help keeping the air in the balloon while making it easier to insert the needle to inflate it.

It's quite possible that you'll receive your balloon deflated, so you'll need a pump or compressor with a specific needle to inflate it properly. To find out if it has the necessary air pressure, drop the ball from a height of 1.80 m, on a wooden floor, until the bounce reaches a height between 1.20 and 1.40 meters. Inflate your balloons regularly.

It is essential to know the inflation pressure – basketballs typically need a pressure of 0.55 bar – to maximize their life. In addition, a detail, which many are unaware of and which is essential, is to wet the needle before inflating it. For over 130 years Spalding has been a leader in innovation and quality. From the development of the very first basketball to the latest in NEVERFLAT® technology, Spalding’s tradition of innovation continues. 1983 Spalding became the official ball of the NBA. Made from the finest full grain leather and meeting the most stringent quality and performance standards the Spalding basketball is being played within the strongest league for over 30 years now. Our new TF 1000 Legacy product range is trusted by the best Leagues worldwide, with top athletes knowing and valuing the best product for their performance. This is where the Spalding TF 1000 Classic indoor basketball is in a league of its own. If you’re asking why Spalding redesigned the original SpaldingTF 1000 basketball, this is the very reason. They did it with improved durability in mind. This is all made possible with the nylon windings, fortifying the ball’s structure and making it extra firm and durable. Aside from durability, the 100% nylon windings also contribute to the consistency of the bounce and the grip. That is not necessarily a bad thing since you want your basketball to last long and to feel better each time you use it, not the other way around. In that regard, the Spalding TF-1000’s exclusive ZK Microfiber technology delivers in a big way.

In all materials leather, synthetic leather or rubber, if the ball has mud stains, wash it with water, once washed, let the ball air dry in a cool, well-ventilated place and away from the sun's rays. HOW TO INFLATE A BASKETBALL Next, we wanted to see how these balls would retain air pressure. If playing outside consistently or storing in the same environment, would the PSI levels maintain? There’s nothing worse than the feeling of wanting to shoot hoops, only to find a flat ball with no pump in sight. Wider grooves allow shooters to settle in more easily. Also, if the ball retains sweat from an intense game, it becomes more difficult to handle as well as shoot. For this reason, we wanted to find basketballs that could handle the most intense games. For synthetic leather and rubber basketballs, these simple tips will extend the life of the ball. After using the balloon, rub it with a damp or slightly wet cloth. Wipe the surface of the ball with a clean, damp cloth. Finally, dry or bounce the ball on a clean, dry towel. Never let the ball dry in direct sunlight.
