Anne Boleyn makes another appearance at this Jacobean manor house in Norfolk, as well she might: this was, after all, the Boleyns’ ancestral home. The second wife of Henry VIII is said to visit her childhood home on the anniversary of her execution on May 19, arriving by night in a coach steered by a headless driver who, according to some accounts, carries Anne’s own head in his lap. Anne’s ghost then spends the night wandering the hall, perhaps to catch up with her brother George, Lord Rochford (also headless) or her father, Sir Thomas (not headless). The library is a focus of ghostly activity: a grey lady (who may or may not also be Anne) was glimpsed reading in there by a house steward. Now owned by the National Trust, the house also has another literary ghost: Sir John Fastolf, supposedly one of the inspirations for Shakespeare’s Falstaff.

A historic pub in Swanage, which was originally a row of cottages built in the 17th century. It has over 400 years of history, tragedy and hauntings. The building has been used as a court house, a hospital for soldiers, an ironmonger's and of course, a pub. A former landlady and her daughter died in the pub, adding to the misery and emotion attached to it. Once owned by the noble Seymour family, only the shell of this once-great castle remains. While architecturally striking, Berry Pomeroy Castle tends to leave visitors rather unsettled. The pub was legendary in its heyday and is the place where Daniel Defoe was inspired to write Robinson Crusoe and the pub which Robert Louis Stevenson based the the inn on in Treasure Island. Others who have spent the night in the attic since have ended up dead. In 1879 a night in the attic drove a maid mad, she died in an asylum the next day. The next night a curious man took up the challenge to spend a night in the room and went on to become the first person to be recorded dead in the house, the coroner's verdict was "death of fright." Most Haunted moved its new content onto its new YouTube channel, which aired new Most Haunted material, shorter Most Haunted episodes, weekly live streams with Karl, Yvette, and Mary Beattie, and also live events at Halloween and other times. Contrary to opening captions on broadcast versions of the programme, current episodes now display opening wording stressing the Most Haunted team stand by the findings of their investigations (as YouTube have no rules or regulations on the legitimacy of paranormal content on the platform) which has arguably led to more forgery and staging as the production crew are not beholden to the same standards and practices as they were on digital television channels. The land The Village is built on was once farmland where a barn stood, which had a secret tunnel to St. Peter’s church 500 yards away from the location. Monks at the church used the barn to hide in, until the barn was burnt to the ground with seven monks inside in the 1500s. These seven monks are also said to haunted the building to this day. On the first night the team visit San Pietro in Vincoli, the first of five spooky locations in the Italian city. Most Haunted Live! did not return for Halloween 2010 and was replaced by a new paranormal show called Paranormal Investigation: LIVE! which aired for two nights on Sky Living. Hoghton Tower, a historic house and stately home in the village of Hoghton, Preston is the second most haunted place in England. [9] Glasshayes House, a country house and former hotel redesigned by Arthur Conan Doyle in Lyndhurst [26] In a 2015 episode the team captured some compelling evidence. Although the evidence is much less dramatic than other examples on this list, it was captured in a more scientific manner by the show's resident skeptic, Glen Hunt.

Series 15 started on 12 May 2010, with an investigation into Berkeley Castle and continue to show every Wednesday on Living at 22:00 BST. The series ended on Wednesday 21 July 2010. The series was made up of 10 episodes concluding with a two-parter at Weald & Downland Museum, Singleton, West Sussex. Most Haunted aired its 19th series from June to September 2016. [IMDb 5] Series 19 included a "Huge" 3 Part Investigation at a former prison, HMP Shrewsbury; as well as a 2-hour Halloween special which also took place at HMP Shrewsbury and was broadcast on 3 November 2016. Most Haunted broadcasts a live and interactive special to celebrate the summer solstice from the remarkable Woodchester Mansion in Gloucestershire. This grand Gothic mansion was never finished. Can the team find out why? The home of the Hesketh family for many generations, Rufford Old Hall was built by Sir Thomas Hesketh in 1420. Originally it would have had two wings either end of the Great Hall, but over the years there have been major changes to the structure. The West wing is now completely gone and the East wing has been rebuilt. Very little of the original building now stands. One of the many ghosts said to haunt the building is Queen Elizabeth I, spotted often in the dining room. However, the most haunted part of the castle is the chapel undercroft, where you'll find a stone coffin which is said to have once help the body of one of the castle's most infamous residents, John Somery. His ghost has been spotted as disembodied legs beside the coffin. Others have reported feeling him tug at their clothing as they walk through this part of the castle. Urban legend states that heavy rain postponed her burial. When the groundskeeper returned to the tomb to lay her to rest once the weather cleared, he found Rufina's coffin lid ajar, with scratch marks on the inside. The legend goes that she had been buried alive, and woke in her coffin after suffering a case of 'catalepsy'.

People have reported UFOs in many forms, from a moon-sized light descending from the sky, to flying saucers hovering above the woods, as well as plenty of accounts of unexplained lights in the sky, many of which seemed to beam light down into the trees below. The prison's A-wing is said to be the most haunted, perhaps due to its dark history of suicides resulting in sad, angry souls being trapped between this world and the next. Most of those who took their own live did so on A-wing, at one point there was one a week. This wouldn’t be a list of the most haunted places in the UK without mentioning Scotland. At the top of the list is Duntulum Castle. People have also reported hearing the eerie sound of a woman crying and singing from empty rooms throughout the building. The ghost of a man who was murder by being stabbed through the throat has also been spotted in the castle. Dalston Hall near Carlisle, Cumbria boasts an extraordinary range of ghosts. A non-human entity with long fingers and nails has been sensed in the cellar as has a friendlier 'handyman'. Several female spirits have also been seen.

For series six, beginning on 22 March 2005 with an investigation of Bodmin Gaol, David Wells became one of the main mediums alongside Derek Acorah appearing in every episode. Glen watched in amazement as the temperature of the window dropped in a fairly short space of time from 8°C to just 0°C. At one point it dropped one whole degree in just 30 seconds, something the team considered to be a significant change.
