Choose the Stop Watch Mode. Push the Start/Stop button to begin the lap time. To pause the Stop Watch push the Start button to stop it and push it again to continue. To reset the Stop Watch to zero, stop the lap time by pushing the Start/Stop button, then push the Reset button (otherwise the Stop Watch will continue counting after other Modes are selected). CAI's Dreizinnenhütte (Rifugio Locatelli, 2438 m) is located approximately one kilometer northeast of Drei Zinnen. The cabin, which is well known for its view of the north wall, can be reached from Auronzohytta via Paternsattel on a wide hiking trail. Other access options are from Sexten through Fischleinboden from the east, and also from Sexten from the north through the Innerfeldtal and through the Rienztal from Höhlenstein (Landro) in the Höhlensteintal (Valle di Landro). From the southeast, the cabin can be reached from Lange Alm. To set the Second, select the Time Reset Mode and push the Reset button until the Second number flashes. The Second number resets to Zero every time the Start button is pushed. After the Second number is set, set the Minute number by selecting the Time Reset Mode and pushing the Reset button until the Minute number flashes; push the Start button until the correct Minute is displayed and push the Reset Button. Northwest of the peaks is the summer-open, privately run farmhouse Lange Alm (also Lange Alpe) at 2296 m. One hiking trail goes from the Auronzo hut over the Forcella Col di Mezzo, another from the north comes from the Rienztal. In Normal Time Mode, push the Start button. The Alarm and Hourly Chimes are off if no Alarm or Chime icon is displayed.

To select the Hour, push the Start button while the Hour is flashing and until the correct Hour is displayed, then push the Reset button (the Alarm and Hourly Chime icons will appear).In the Normal Time Mode, the Day of Week, the Hour, Minute and Second are displayed (none flash). The Sexten Dolomites are surrounded by other mountain ranges on all sides, and this sheltered location in the interior of the Alps provides relatively favorable climatic conditions considering the altitude.
