Description

Mains powered alarms are powered by your home’s electricity supply and can be identified by a light which indicates they are connected to the mains power. Battery powered alarms do not have a green light and when removed you will have a flat base plate without any connections. For safety reasons If your alarms are mains powered or you are not sure, you should consult a qualified electrician or the manufacturer for advice. Unlike other CO detectors, the Nest notifies you (and anyone else who has registered) with a notification on your mobile device, even if you’re in another country. It also does the same for smoke. The main unit also speaks a warning in a calm English female voice when it detects smoke or CO in a room. If the CO levels are slowly increasing, the voice will warn you before setting off the alarm. But if CO levels become dangerously high, the centre lamp glows red and a very loud, high-pitched beep is emitted along with a spoken warning letting you know which room is affected. You can temporarily cancel any alarms by holding the “Stop” button on the app or by pressing the unit’s central button. Find out more about the FA3313X4 CO Alarm. If your property has an attached garage with a connecting door through to the house, it is recommended to fit a CO alarm inside the house leading from that doorway.

Certified to the European Carbon Monoxide alarm Standards EN 50291-1: 2010, EN 50291-2: 2010, and Kitemarked KM 551504. The alarm comes with 2 X AA batteries that can be replaced once the low battery chirp can be heard. When alarms are interlinked you can press the test button on one of the alarms to test the whole network. To make life even easier you can install our Smart Gateway in to your Pro Connected alarm range which enables you to test the alarms through the app – or you can even enable the Alexa skill and then Just Ask Alexa to test them! CO detectors should be installed near potential sources of carbon monoxide, essentially any fuel-burning appliances such as boilers, cookers and ovens, fireplaces (both open and enclosed burners), and portable generators. As you are likely to be most affected by CO in areas of your home that you spend the most time in it is advisable to install alarms in those areas as well, such as the living room and bedrooms. It is also worth noting that while one detector is better than no detectors at all, larger homes may require several detectors to cover the property fully. x carbon monoxide alarm (to be installed as per the fitting instructions in the room where the boiler is installed)Each alarm will be provided with an installation guide to support with installation. For mains powered alarms we recommend that a qualified electrician completes the install. Everyone knows how important it is to have a smoke alarm in the home. If a fire breaks out while you’re asleep, the smoke it emits will set off the alarm, hopefully giving you time to get out before being asphyxiated by the fire’s deadly concoction of chemical gases.

The advice below is purely provided for ‘best practice’ and should not be used independently. Please note, these alarms are not suitable for homes in Scotland under the new Fire & CO regulations. The health effects of CO depend on the concentration and length of exposure (carbon monoxide concentration is measured in parts per million). According to respected CO alarm manufacturer Kidde, “a carbon monoxide detector is a time-weighted alarm that measures the buildup of carbon monoxide in a house. Carbon monoxide alarms to be installed in all rooms where you spend most of your time whilst at home e.g. bedrooms and living rooms There is a 'key' provided which is removed in orde r to activate the detector (i.e. connect to internally fitted battery). This can be replaced if you want to take it on your travels and reactivate at your destination which may be of interest to some. Read full review The alarm’s high sensitivity mode will be enabled if the alarm predicts CO levels will increase to or above 180ppm for fast reaction to rising CO levels.

With the alarm memory function, the red LED will flash to provide a visual indication of a previous CO alarm activation. Interlinked is a term used to describe a network of alarms that communicate with each other. In an interlinked network if one device detects fire then all devices in the network will sound – this means that if a fire starts in remote parts of the home, you are alerted across all devices instantly. FA3313X4: Carbon Monoxide Alarm with replaceable batteries FireAngel recommend a CO alarm is installed between 1 m and 3 m away from each fuel‑burning appliance, as well as installing additional units in areas such as living rooms and bedrooms where you spend most time whilst at home. Activating your new FireAngel CO alarm Do not install CO alarms within 3 metres of doors or windows, above radiators, or immediately close to anything that gives off steam or fumes like a cooker or shower room. Similarly, it is not recommended to install detectors in dusty areas such as workshops or garages.

Carbon monoxide alarms do not have to be interlinked into the network under the guidelines of the new standard, however doing so will ensure an alert to carbon monoxide is heard across the whole network too. View FireAngel alarms that comply with the new law.If you install the FireAngel Pro Connected range in your home, you can add the Smart Gateway which will allow you to test the alarms and receive instant alerts via your phone or smart device. Whilst we can’t comment on what may happen by law, we can advise that all home sales in the future will require to confirm compliance within the Home Report so not being compliant would prevent you being able to sell your home in the future. Our FA3322X4 Carbon Monoxide Alarm with digital display comes with a sealed, tamper proof battery that will last the lifetime of the alarm. The sensors within the unit will deteriorate after 10 years, so to ensure you’re protected we recommend you replace the unit after this time.

Known as the ‘ Silent Killer’, CO occurs when fuels burn incompletely, with common sources being boilers, gas fires and hobs and solid fuel burners. However, carbon monoxide can also pass through walls, so you would also be at risk if a neighbouring property had a leak.a carbon monoxide alarm should be installed where there is a flue or a carbon-fuelled appliance (such as a boiler, a fire – including open fires, and heaters)
