Previously, King developed Pretty Little Liars, which was based on a novel series of the same name by Sara Shepard. It was on the air between 2010 and 2017, and it was full of drama, mystery and thrills; the plot centered around a group of friends receiving anonymous and ominous messages from someone called "A". The twist of who the mysterious online stalker was, was so stupid. That could NEVER happen. How were they supposed to get away with that? With what skill set? I'm confusion. It doesn't help that there were so many characters in here, each of whom had their own reasons and their own antics. Soon, so much was happening that it all became a bit muddled. It felt like we were just going in circles, and I had trouble keeping straight who was related to who in what way and why they were all doing what they were doing. It felt like a hot mess, honestly. Finlay Donovan is killing it . . . except, she’s really not. She’s a stressed-out single-mom of two and struggling novelist, Finlay’s life is in chaos: the new book she promised her literary agent isn’t written, her ex-husband fired the nanny without telling her, and this morning she had to send her four-year-old to school with hair duct-taped to her head after an incident with scissors.

Vero was awesome. I love how she’s stealing a frying pan and a box of stuff at the beginning of the book but then ready to go all in with helping Finlay. Such a funny duo! I loved Vero and Finlay they had a good banter that kept the crime plotline light when it would otherwise be too dark for me to enjoy. Cosimano cuts dexterously between Finn’s adventures as a hit woman, her deeply iffy romance . . . , and the domestic crises that keep on piling up as if nothing had ever happened to disturb them. Suspenseful, funny, and even a tad mysterious. More, please.” Yes, romantic comedy/murder mystery is now a trope! And no one does it better than the single mom/writer/contract killer Finlay Donovan. He grumbled to himself as I knelt to sop up the puddle of grounds on the floor. I could picture him at their spotless kitchen table in her immaculate designer town house over a mug of French-pressed coffee, pulling out what was left of his hair.I needed to get ready for the third book in the series-“Finlay Donovan Jumps The Gun” publishing in January 2023, so I listened to the fantastic, entertaining AUDIBLE narrated by the talented Angela Dawe, whose “VOICES” were perfection!!

So now it’s a race against time to find who’s putting this bounty on his head and bring it to a grinding halt, if for no other reason than to protect her children.
