About this deal

Cerruti 1881 might not be my signature, although I certainly used to wear it much more than I do now, but it still is my default springtime fragrance. It is non offensive frag, sillage is moderate but will be arround you for a long time during the day as a noticable skin scent.

I loved the comment someone made about this making a young guy classy and an old guy hip, and the one about this getting you fired made me smile. Must just be me though because I see people report all day longevity quite often, so I'll let it slide. There's a brisk, green, slightly soapy, herbal and aromatic vibe that's extremely good value and also classy, natural smelling, and inoffensive. Quite an astringent opening but once that sharpness, bitterness even, passes, this quickly becomes the sort of classic, green, woodsy fougere I really like a la Polo; Quorum; Paco Rabane; Yatagan. The last one I tried is 1881 Signature for man (2017), a fantastic leather fragrance that is selling quite well. Top notes are lavender, carnation, galbanum, bergamot, juniper, cypress and elemi resin and middle notes are vetiver, ylang-ylang, rose, lily of the valley and cassia. Its smell like a citrus fougere scent it’s a masculine and aromatic the dry down is like a chill wind air that arouse the senses of smell. This is a cologne that requires experienced noses (tho experienced noses don't necessarily like this one).

The brand designs and retails deluxe clothing, accessories and sumptuous fragrances using only the finest materials. Not sure when this fragrance was reformulated, and how much natural oakmoss it used in the first place, but my bottle smells great and performs well. On me, this plays out like CD Eau Sauvage with the added oakmoss and juniper that somehow does NOT smell bitter. However, the scent does have a sharp quality, almost piercing to the eyes and nose, undermining its otherwise mild and delicate profile. To prolong the trail of the fragrance, we recommend using the products in the range such as shower gels, body lotions or deodorants. A work colleague of mine wears the original female 1881 mostly every day and she rocks it really well (I bought it to her for her birthday a couple years ago) and it is always complimented according to her (I too think it smells fantastic). My bottle is from 2011 so it is strong and lively and the bottle is a work of art,the kind you keep once the bottle is empty. While it's obviously heavily rooted in 70s fougere territory, this is a 90s fragrance through and through.
