About this deal

It's essential to check the compatibility of the remote bass control knob with your amplifier before purchasing. You can use an oscilloscope to check the output wave if you have one available or, a more common way is to use a multimeter and measure the output voltage of the amplifier at the speaker terminal and then use this calculation to determine if your gain is set correctly. Distortion is caused when a soundwave has its amplitude adjusted from a traditional sine wave (round peaks) to a square soundwave (square peaks). Where you are in correct is in believing that the remote gain only controls the preset gain of the amp, this is in fact not true. This replacement bass knob for the RP series amplifiers makes for an ideal choice when you want to have quick access for adjusting the level of one or multiple amplifiers configured far away from your reach.

Making adjustments to playback is normal when listening to a variety of music, as apparently, all recordings aren't created equal. Some models can be flush mounted with only the knob showing and others are intended to be surface mounted with the whole box visible. Our wide variety of bass and level remotes offer you a quick and easy way to adjust the bass to compensate the variations of genres you are listening to.No, using the amp remote bass control knob does not affect the overall sound quality of your car audio system. sndsgood wrote:if the gain at the amp is set for a safe unclipped level then there is nothing wrong with using the remote gain as a volume control. I know the Smart can take up to 4v but I have heard they run better on lower voltage so I limited it to 1. I've always been told that kicker is "top of the line sound quality" and that statement is 100% true!

When you turn the knob clockwise, the bass level increases, and turning it counterclockwise decreases the bass output. when I use knobs for my punch amplifiers they were the gain type and they were proprietary Rockford Fosgate, is set the gain on amp with the knob just slightly back from all the way up, that way I could over ride the onboard gain with the knob a bit if I wanted to. Definitely don't want to wire up a headunit just to turn around and disconnect it after but I'm running out of options.A remote gain knob is solely for turning down the gain quickly to set it at normal listening levels. Properly set, it can enhance your listening experience by allowing you to adjust the bass response to your liking for different music genres or audio sources. If he sets the gain on his amp to the point of maximum yeild before no clipping then he should leave it that way, NOTHING he does to the amp will make it any louder and still allow it to operate safely.
