The Sleepover is a dark, disturbing thriller from the author and overall, I did enjoy this story about Hannah and her friends. just wow, I really really enjoyed this well written, tightly plotted, intense thriller that had me totally captivated from the first page.

The author cleverly manipulates the reader into thinking they know the truth and then throws in a twist that completely blows your theory into tiny little pieces. There are some interesting characters and dynamics in this but King does not develop them enough to really get the benefit.

Despite her grief she vowed to be the best mother she could be to her son and protect him at all costs. This isn’t as dark as some of her books but there are still some pretty scary and chilling events that gave me the shivers.

I think telling us the exact events that happened a year ago, rather than just snippets would have really helped. The themes are transferable and depending how it is used they can be brought in to nearly every level of a primary school. I generally hate any romantic situations in a mystery book but the dynamic between Hannah and Liam fit well into the story and was not over the top. I think the ending just wasn't what I was expecting and not quite my cup of tea but still really enjoyable.This was longer than I usually prefer so I put it off for a while after I bought it but the reviews were so good that I finally listened and it was sooo good. There were lots of WTF moments, great twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, and it captivated my attention. This book is great as it talks about subject of disability which people tend to ignore or shy away from and children can relate to these stories, at the time it shows readers who have not been bullied or those who bully others how it makes people feel.
