Description

Plush fabric lines the deep seat with removable padding that doubles as a tummy time mat. In addition to the padding, the seat cover can also be removed, and both are safe to toss in the washing machine if your baby has an accident. Plus, the cover is safe to tumble dry. The biggest downside of this bouncer's design is that it's circular, so it takes up more space than other options, like the Ergobaby 3-in-1 Evolve Baby Bouncer. Lastly, always place the bouncer on level ground. Never put the bouncer on a soft bed or another soft surface due to the risk of the unit tipping over or babies suffocating. Design Unfortunately, the Cybex Lemo does not fold for compact storage, but its slim design makes up for it. We carried the bouncer and a sandbag (one in each hand), and it always felt manageable. While not ideal for travel, it's a solid option for its simplicity and adaptability that grows with your child, allowing you to use it as long as possible at home or grandma and grandpa's house. Lights, music, action! The Ingenuity InLighten Bouncer is eye-catching, featuring a removable light-up toy bar and vibrations. The toy bar lights up, alternating between blue and purple lights, and features two plush toys to keep the baby busy. If your little one is crying, the bouncer plays several sounds to help calm them down, like soft melodies, white noise, and nature sounds. You can also make the bouncer vibrate with the push of a button. You'll need three size C batteries (not included) to use the lights, music, and vibration (it automatically shuts off after 30 minutes to save battery life). Babies can utilize these exciting features while reclining in one of two positions. We had no issues changing the recline levels thanks to clear instructions and labeled buttons. To begin our research into the best baby bouncers, we spoke with Elizabeth Murray, DO, MBA, FAAP, a board-certified pediatrician at the University of Rochester Medical Center, faculty director for Child Health and Safety Communications at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester, NY, and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics; Benjamin Hoffman, MD, CPST-I, FAAP,a professor of pediatrics at the Oregon Health & Science University, AAP president-elect, and chair of the AAP Council on Injury, Violence, and Poison Prevention; and Molly O’Shea, MD, FAAP, a pediatrician at Birmingham Pediatrics in Michigan. All three experts provided us with valuable information regarding baby bouncer safety and what to look for when buying a bouncer. In addition, we reviewed guidance from the AAP, WHO, and CDC on how to keep a baby safe in a bouncer and how long a child can use one.

We love the amount of thought that went into the design of the Chicco E-Motion Auto-Glider and Bouncer. It’s sleek, modern-looking, and slim enough to store in small spaces despite being automated. The bouncer offers 10 minutes of a gliding motion, which can restart automatically thanks to motion-sensing technology when a baby naturally moves or if a parent nudges the unit. The vibrations feature is a true lifesaver. It provides a gentle and soothing motion that instantly calms my baby. It's like a magic touch that lulls them into a peaceful state, making naptime or quiet moments a breeze. Baby Delight Alpine Wave Deluxe Bouncer: Our favorite feature of the Baby Delight Alpine Wave Deluxe is its portability. The bouncer folds flat, which is seamless, and stores under a couch with room to spare. Unfortunately, the seat cover is not removable, so you must spot clean messes. And the bouncer feels more flimsy than sturdy—we thought the bouncing feature needed to be more moderate. One of our editors used this bouncer when her child was a baby and said her little one fell out of the bouncer despite being strapped in properly. Another highlight of this bouncer is its ability to play music and vibrate, which requires three C batteries (not included). You can't do both simultaneously; however, you can alternate between the two with the push of a button on the front of the bouncer. Choose from five songs or three vibrations speeds to help soothe a crying baby. Unfortunately, this bouncer is heavier than others on our list, weighing 15.5 pounds due to the beautiful wood frame. It's large, too, so it's not ideal to take on a trip or transport often (maybe at all). We advise using both hands when moving the bouncer because it's somewhat difficult to grasp.

Best Ingenuity Baby Bouncer 2023

to 4.7 stars: These baby bouncers are excellent—they might have minor flaws, but we still recommend them. Many bouncers go beyond your basic bouncing and include additional features, like the Ingenuity InLighten Bouncer, which has a toy bar, music, and vibrations. According to Dr. Murray, minimal, smooth motion and stimulation moderation are key, because the more you stimulate a baby, the more stimulation they will expect, she explains. While added features like a toy bar or vibrations are great for keeping a baby entertained, they’re not always necessary. Ease of Cleaning One of the standout features is the portability of this bouncer. It's lightweight and easy to move around the house, allowing me to keep an eye on my baby while getting things done. The compact design also means it doesn't take up much space, which is a major plus in our cozy living area. Katrina Cossey is a commerce writer, enthusiastic shopper, and devoted mom. She spent several years in broadcast journalism but found her true passion in writing about the best products for families, pregnant people, and kids of all ages. She’s researched thousands of baby products, toys, gifts, and more and personally tested many of them. In her spare time, you’ll likely find her in the beautiful outdoors of Oklahoma with her husband and 3-year-old son. Katrina used a now-discontinued Graco baby bouncer and swing combo when her son was born. She appreciated having a spot for her son to sit or swing in while she finished dishes or folded laundry.

We love the slim profile and modern, high-end look of the Cybex Lemo Bouncer. It's ideal for small spaces, measuring 24 x 17.3 x 21.7 inches, and doesn't plug into an electrical outlet or require batteries—babies can bounce naturally by moving their bodies, or adults can lend a hand with manual bouncing. However, we need to note that the tag on the bouncer states babies can sleep in the bouncer, but the AAP and our experts advise against that. The company's warning manual also states the bouncer "is not intended for prolonged periods of sleeping." We, our experts, and the AAP do not recommend babies fall asleep in a bouncer due to the risk of suffocation and potential death. The accompanying sounds and melodies are a delightful surprise. They add an extra layer of sensory engagement for my baby. The selection is diverse enough to cater to different moods, from calming lullabies to more playful tunes. If your baby falls asleep in a bouncer, immediately move them to a safe sleep space (crib, play yard, or bassinet). Dr. O'Shea warns that even if you’re sitting nearby and watching, your baby is still at risk if they sleep in a bouncer.

The Ergobaby bouncer arrives folded in a box, ready to go. As part of our testing, we removed the bouncer from the box, unfolded it into position, and placed a sandbag into the seat to replicate a baby’s weight. This bouncer’s stability shines—it was the sturdiest bouncer we tested in the lab, thanks to the rubber on its base to prevent the unit from slipping and sliding on the floor. When loaded with a sandbag, the bouncer remained smooth, and the sandbag never moved or fell out when we bounced it. Also saw one saying it doesn’t Bounce. No it doesn’t bounce automatically. You have to bounce it like all other bouncers. Push on it, it’ll bounce.

This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. To return faulty items see our Returning Faulty Items policy. I’ve had a few bouncers between my two babies and this one is by far the best. I got my current baby another more expensive one but she is way too small for it. I loved how this one accommodated her small size better in the other she fell over to the side.

No batteries are necessary to make the Ergobaby Evolve Bouncer do its thing; a baby’s natural movement bounces the unit, but adults can manually bounce it for newborns, too. If you want a baby bouncer that blends with your nursery or home decor, the Childhome Evolux Bouncer is great. Its simplicity and wooden detail set it apart from other bouncers we tested. The inclusion of a toy bar is a brilliant addition. The colorful toys are not only visually stimulating for my baby, but they also encourage motor skill development. It's a win-win! Plus, the detachable feature makes it easy to switch in and out as needed.
