Personally i also like the overall shape of the Kone, and also don't mind the 90% size of the pure compared to the XTD.

It gets even more mysterious: after working on the windows side for several hours and rebooting to linux, the mouse worked fine. The Legendary has two side buttons, two buttons above and below the scroll wheel to increase and decrease the CPI, and a default CPI button. DISCLAIMER: I've been having weird bugs with the magnetic cable, where it makes the G HUB software think my battery is at zero. However, the difference between a bog standard mouse and the high-end pointing devices available is stark, and you would be amazed how much difference a good mouse can make. The reason for this is that I have pretty small hands, and I’ve always found gaming mice to be a bit to bulky for swift movement in the thick of battle. The Prodigy feels better built, is better suited for small hands, and has a lower lift-off distance.

I'm finding it hard to pull out good things about the MX518 that other mice can't do, as it's very much a generic mouse. Instead of flashy lights like some other mice have, this one has an elegant metallic silver finish with black accents.

Due to its slight curve and left-side thumb rest, it's designed for right hands, and its sides have a textured detail on the plastic that helps with grip. It's comfortable to use, although people with small hands may not be able to use it comfortably with any grip type. I already looked at the Logitech G402 and G502, but I don't know if Logitech still has the awesome build quality I am used to from the mx518 and I don't really like the looks of these mice all that much. I feel I'm just starting to outgrow it with my pinky hanging over the edge, but the thumb position is perfect, as are the mouse button fingers.

I have not tried the fk1 so cannot comment on it, however the original fk is a bit on the small side so if you have larger hands the fk1 would be a good choice. That is testament to the incredible build quality on this mouse, that its still working years after it was made. They glide well on both a mousepad and directly on a desk, although there's a slight scratchiness due to the sharpness of two straight edges. Logitech’s MX510 Series of mice are great, but they looked to improve it even more, by adding the ability to change the DPI on the fly. On the other hand, the MX518 has more programmable buttons, and its curved shape feels more comfortable. So it was with some trepidation that I hooked up the Logitech MX518 gaming mouse, but now that I’ve used it for a few weeks, I don’t think I’ll ever want to let it go. I also never have issues with my mouse cursor flipping to the top of my desktop screen like you sometimes get with cheap OEM mouses. Thanks Madduck - I edited my post above as my uncle told me there is a PID which is LNXXXXX, so not as many numbers as yours, but that looks to be the most likely for the serial number.
