The storyline was interesting, albeit a little farfetched at the end with a 16yo girl taking on an elite and elusive criminal enterprise.

Explaining, “I do a little bit of TikTok,” Swearenjin decides to purchase an extra signed copy to give away to anyone with over a thousand followers willing to post their own review. By popular demand, Warner’s publisher is now working to release both hardcover and audiobook versions of the novel. My comment is about where the murder “mystery” leads, this was my least favourite part, it was more complicated than the rest of the book and not as interesting, it didn’t fit with the book vibe in my opinion. Hopefully, I’ll be able to amend this review if the author edits and reworks his book to tighten and clean things up. Overall, “Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor” is a well-written and engaging teen fiction mystery with a paranormal twist.

It was just supposed to be, ‘Hey, here’s a fellow neighbor who’s just struggling and I wanted to help him out,’ ” Swearenjin later told Dallas’s WFAA. With the help of her new friends, Leigh must face her fears and find the peace she needs to move on. It also felt like a Scooby Doo episode where the bad guy, having the characters dead to rights, pauses to dialogue about their plan, conveniently giving the characters a chance to regroup and thwart the plan.

By far the most rewarding part has been being a husband to an absolutely amazing woman and father to two incredible children - now adults. I didn't see the reveal with Nacho (OMG that name, I cannot) coming but Miss Tree was a glaring red flag from her introduction until her exit.It doesn't matter if you're into Stephen King, Octavia Butler, Jack Ketchum or Shirley Jackson, this is the place to share that love and discuss to your heart's content. I especially liked the relationship that built between Leigh and the two versions of the ghost, it gave the characters good development. They delve into the mansion’s dark history, unearthing secrets about the Simmons and Pierce families, whose lives were intertwined with tragedy and betrayal. Ty, Leigh's father's friend, describes being disappointed in Leigh and having the urge to "put her over his knee and spank her" which again I think was weird, unnecessary, and added nothing to the plot. A different type of story compared to other books I’ve read but I truly think this book is for everyone.

Determined to solve the mystery, Leigh enlists the help of her new friend, Max, a tech-savvy teenager with an interest in the occult.I had to show support as a fellow book lover and avid reader, I loved the traction and the love the book community, as well as the world was showing Shawn. Printz Award --- National Book Awards --- Newbery Medal --- Other Awards --- Pura Belpre --- Pura Belpre Award --- Stonewall Book Award --- William C. So, grab a copy and join Leigh on her adventure through the brutal world of organized crime and betrayal. With its atmospheric setting, captivating characters, and captivating characters this novel will keep readers on the edge of their seats as Leigh and Max navigate the treacherous world of the supernatural to uncover the truth behind the haunting of Simmons-Pierce Manor.

When the police tell her the investigation into her parents' murder has hit a brick wall, she knows the only way she will ever know peace is to solve the mystery herself. In the ninety-second video posted to his TikTok a few hours later, Swearenjin conducts a makeshift interview, asking Warner about his inspirations and discussing the premise of Leigh Howard, a young adult supernatural murder mystery.Early Reviewers gives out free new and forthcoming books to readers in exchange for an honest review. It was a break in typical content from the creator, whose viewers averaged in the low thousands for videos that primarily featured his home renovation projects. The name and way the character "Nacho" is written is strange and feels like an insensitive and unnecessary depiction. There are scenes where the characters are in one location, then at the end they’re in a different location with no transition or acknowledgement there was a shift. Leigh is a 16 year old teenage girl who after her parents are murdered, is taken in by a wealthy distant uncle and his family to the Simmons-Pierce Manor.
