Description

It has floral notes of jasmine, acacia, vanilla, oak and fruit on the nose while the delicate palate is mellow, smooth and very well-balanced. It’s a blend of more than 15 Grand and Petit Champagne eaux-de-vie that are at least four years old.

It’s the most delicate of the Hine cognacs with fruity citrussy aromas on the nose, attractive apple hints on the palate and a long mellow taste in the mouth.

Hine owns 80 acres of vines in Grande Champagne that supply 20% of their Grande Champagne needs, allowing a strict control from field to bottle. Awarded a Royal Warrant by Elizabeth II in 1962 they remain the only official supplier Cognac to the British Monarchy. What marks Hine apart is that the casks are sent to the United Kingdom to mature a different temperature and humidity than other Cognacs, creating a special vitality in the drink. Please note, whilst the majority of parcels sent on this service are received next day, this is not guaranteed. The identity of Hine comes from the village of Bonneuil, where 70 hectars of Ugni Blanc grapes provide the ingredients for the blending process.

The almonds are thus sent for distillation giving an almond distillate which is then blended back into the almond flavoured brandy. This is a very natural product and is probably the only Amaretto available in the UK actually made with almonds. It reinterprets the fruity flavours characteristic of white wines produced from Charente vines, particularly from the Grande and Petite Champagne varieties. Quite floral in style with acacia and apple blossom leading the way backed up by white pepper and apricot. Hine is one of the few houses to specialise in Vintage cognacs, either matured in Jarnac, or shipped to the UK at an early age and matured in cool, damp British cellars, and bottled as Early-landed Vintages. Expressive yet discreet, its notes of iris, fresh apricot, acacia and white pepper chime with its sprightly and joyful demeanour.Rare is the classic expression of the House of Hine, and a benchmark for its entire collection of Cognacs. Add as a surprising twist to a punch when too many friends show up with very little time, or simply drizzle over a fresh peach salad. These cookies help provide information on metrics the number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source, etc. In 1962 the exceptional quality of Hine was officially recognised when the company was awarded the Royal Warrant for the supply of cognac to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the only Cognac house to have received this honour. Created in 1763, Hine is proudly one of the oldest houses in the Cognac region and is named after Thomas Hine of Dorset.

The results is a superior quality cognac, since 1962 the only official supplier of cognac to the British monarchy. Light toasted fine-grained wood barrels preserve our cognac's authentic personality that is celebrated around the world. The liquid is then separated from the ‘almond mulch’ giving on the one hand almond flavoured brandy and on the other alcoholic almonds. In 1909, the Cognac appellation was legally defined and divided into six areas according to the style of the cognacs produced within each area. It's a blend of several Grande and Petite Champagne Eaux-de-vie with most being older than the minimum 4 years of age. Hine Rare is a complex cognac with notes of ripe apricot, citrus fruits, oaky with notes of nuts and vanilla.
