Giuseppe Tosolini, better known as Bepi, started distilling in 1943 and quickly made a name for himself as a producer of incredibly high quality grappa at a time when it was still considered a cheap and rough spirit for those who could not afford more luxurious spirits. The conversation usually revolved around authenticity, of distilling the spirit of the place and its particularities, and of attention to detail.
