Mariel didn’t have his inner thoughts to know how true of heart he was, but as a reader, it made me sad. She was a winner of RevPit 2018, and her short stories and satirical articles have been published by Hooked, Slackjaw, The Belladonna Comedy, and Points in Case. She introduces her demon as her boyfriend but they have no idea how their pretending turns into something more serious! Some of the best scenes of the book are them opening up to each other, learning to care for the other, and sometimes surprising each other. When not dreaming up whimsical love stories, she can be found reading, dancing, or cuddling her two cats.

It was also poorly paced, boring, and chock full of irritating characters, middling writing, and cliché.Don’t get fooled with his nickname Ozorth the ruthless: nothing is merciless about that charming evil! But his reputation has suffered ever since a bargain went awry – if he can strike a deal with Mariel, he will earn back his deadly reputation. With plenty of laughs mixed with the witchy magic and demon determination the pages flew right by with the story. And I also really love the inner conflict our demon mmc had, about the witch he starts falling for and also how supportive he is of her.

Her arc was great , at first she struggles with self-esteem and pressure from her social circle, and I adored her character growth at the end . Ozroth, a 200 and something year old demon, appears ready to bargain for a soul until he realises that this was all a mistake. I don't want this to come off as prudish and I don't want to spoil anything, but there were elements of this book that made it seem like self-insert fan fiction, or maybe a Wattpad serial.Ozroth can’t leave Mariel’s side until they complete a bargain, which she refuses to do (turns out some humans are attached to their souls). But his reputation has suffered ever since a bargain went awry - if he can strike a deal with Mariel, he will earn back his deadly reputation. I was reminded of How to Keep a Husband for 10 Days by Jessica Hatch which is also a book I was displeased with.

As for the romance, it was instalove but it honestly had a pretty decent execution since he was soooo down bad for her but, overall, the romance was lukewarm at best. I found this book incredibly hard to put down from chapter one with its beautiful main characters and GORGEOUS background characters….She co-hosts the Wicked Wallflowers Club podcast about romance fiction, which was featured on Entertainment Weekly's "Must List.

This is our first foray into the "witchy romcom" genre, and we think we made a very good choice with our intro, because this was hilarious, funny, and sexy.

I found this book to have the right combination of romance, humor, and magic featuring characters that I won’t soon forget.
