He actually takes good care of her, escorts her around personally and brings her coffee and breakfast.

The main character Frost is a likable young girl who just wants to save her dog Romes and she is willing to risk everything to do it. I plunged headfirst into the old fashioned Heverbridge school and savoured it when the story twisted and turned like a lollypop. Sixteen-year-old Frost understands why she’s spent her entire life in an abandoned apartment building. He tries to cope despite inadequate back-up, but there is never enough time; the unsolved crimes pile up and the vicious killings go on. But with nowhere to live since his wife’s family sold his matrimonial home, Frost’s got other things on his mind.It wasn’t really developed that much because of some ~events~ I refuse to spoil about, but it wasn’t annoying in my eyes, so it gets a thumbs up from me! It was almost nice to see someone that didn’t give up hope, even though I don’t know how I would have reacted in her shoes. It laid in some odd state in between, each side distrusting of the other as they tried to navigate their way through.

Ava what a FMC, I really liked her POV and her character arc has been very enjoyable and I am excited to see what the next sequence will bring for her development. There were times when it seemed like everything was about to end, but then I saw I still had more of the book read and figured that something good had to happen eventually. And the more time I spend with the seductive king, the harder it becomes to remember it's all supposed to be fake. Frost knows full well why she's spent her entire life cramped in a tiny apartment and why she's never met another human aside from her father. Also… loved the FF reference (though I’m guessing it was more of a folklore reference but I’m a Final Fantasy fan and hoping it’s that lol). Will Frost find the missing girls before his new nemesis forces him away from Denton once and for all? the buildup and chemistry between Ava and Torin is everythinggggg i was literally screaming NOW KISS at my kindle. This is a thrilling novel, that takes you on a rollercoaster of emotion and leaves you wanting more after each chapter. So when Frost learns that there might be medicine on the other side of the ravaged city, she embarks on a dangerous journey to save the one living creature she loves.

This is my first experience with this author though I do have other titles of hers on my TBR which I’ll now definitely be moving up my list. For one thing, King Torin professes to loathe Ava which is the whole reason he picks her for the trials but, honestly, it never shows. This is a very gentle book, without too much peril or danger, and although it’s fairly long for a chapter book, it would certainly be suitable for quite young readers if they have good comprehension, or if it were read together. This book is definitely and most positively my favorite i 100% recommend it to any new or old readers. They weren’t lying when they said that this is the perfect combination of The Bachelor meets Hunger Games. One cub in particular is Cassie’s favourite, and she names her Frost – then one night, Frost leads Cassie out into the snow – and back into the seventeenth century! Unlike robots or eaters, Frost throughout the book is dependent on hope, always hoping for a way to get the medicine to her pet.
