Lovely interactive book with flaps and peep-through cut-out pages; an alphabet through animals, with a short sentence about each animal. I'm not 100% sure if a child would want to read it over and over again, once they've figured out everything, but I think some would.

My 2 year old boy loves naming all the animals as we go through and he is a massive fan of this book in general. It's fun to find the flaps, which fold out in different ways, making it a bit more interesting (though very little hands may need a bit of help here). To be fair, the text is fairly simple - as I'm sure most A-Z books are - the real star here is the colourful artwork. Her other books include Room on the Broom, Stick Man and Zog, illustrated by Axel Scheffle r, The Hospital Dog , illustrated by Sara Ogilvie and the hugely successful What the Ladybird Heard adventures, illustrated by Lydia Monks.

I know some people don’t like that the book doesn’t make a great amount of sense (they way they go from one animal to another).
