Since then I started wishing I had bought Midnight Shimmer but it was by then really difficult to find. The sweetness is beautiful with the woody notes so that it doesn’t make it cloying on me and the white floral notes actually stop this scent from being too sweet. I don't quite know which accord gets the final compliment, maybe the mysterious peru balsam, or simply the excellent combination of white woods and vanilla, but this is pure heaven for a scent! I might be more sensitive to this because of my design background but I can’t help but think this was a missed opportunity.

My skin tends to produce these kinds of smells with woods, or flowers such as freesia or rose) Instead, it's a very balanced woody,floral, sweet fragrance on my skin. and while the scent drives me wild, I just wish it was stronger and was more noticeable for other people. It has something special I admit , I usually don't go for vanilla perfumes but Shimmer is feminine and girlie at the same time , and easy to wear too! At first you get a bitter sweet burst, almost alcohol like but then it quickly settles into a syrupy sweet vanilla, jasmine,amber and then finally settles into a warm vanilla, amber sweetness. Only one scary minus: If I have understood correctly, the production has been discontinued, so it won't be easy to find in the future.

Not the biggest fan of cheesy Victoria's Seret-style bottle and name, but you can't have everything in life. When I picture in my head the woman who wears this, I see someone in their late teens or early 20s wearing this out with a LBD covered in sequins in a bar or club.

Remember to tell your friends that you can find cheap Midnight Shimmer Eau de Parfum and other Michael Kors products at Bargain Perfume!The jasmine is definitely dominant in the middle phase but it gradually dries down to a soft musky vanilla.

As much as I love vanilla notes in perfumes, often they can turn dusty, plasticky, or piercing-sharp on my chemistry, but Midnight Shimmer stays realistic, and quite foody, which I very much enjoy! The drydown is beautiful ''dry'' jasmine, which makes me think of old school makeup - the way old rouges, powders and lipsticks used to smell. Then opening spray is a very strong nose-burning alcohol, but this moment is fleeting and is replaced with the sweetest, creamiest vanilla I've ever encountered in a perfume. It kinda reminded me of cheirosa 40 but then that one is at least lighter and fruitier so less heavy and nauseating but this one was slightly offputing for me. This is one pretty woody scent - slightly sweet from the vanilla, but that eventually wears off leaving those smokey wood notes going strong, lasting hours later.I smell similarities to The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods but replace the noticeable woody smokey note in that one with a woody moss note. Longevity is not good as much as i expected but it s okay, sillage is okay too, it doesnt come across as a skin perfume on me. With the weather cooler this is spot on; a rich ambery, powered vanilla with some sweet ripe fruits to lighten it just slightly. BTW this smells very similar to Sublime eau de parfum by Jean Patou (the older lotus shaped bottle).
