I feel like the series needs a reboot, which maybe is what Hurwitz is hinting at with Evan’s unexpected challenges.

Pinballed through a series of foster homes, he’d been ripped out of any semblance of ordinary life at the age of twelve to be trained covertly as an assassin. Evan Smoak was taken from an orphanage at the tender age of 12 and trained to be a lean, mean killing machine by a covert government programme. We learn about Kate’s possibly stalling career and Leo’s plan to apply to acting schools against his mother’s wishes. Evan's fortunate to have a handler who is like a father figure who trained him into a lethal killing machine but also taught him moral codes. This, followed by a threat to Ruby, the sister of one of the people killed to stay quiet or face the consequences, is exactly the type of thing that puts Orphan X in motion. Yeah we come up on a cliff-hanger that leaves us tapping our foot but that is what keeps bring us back for another exciting Smoak ride!

A new Orphan X book became available on NetGalley and any reservations I might have had went out the window. Liberated (or progressive, etc) women don't generally refer to themselves as such and more than one woman did this in the story. Thus the reappearance of his nemesis, Special Agent in Charge Naomi Templeton, and her tense meeting with President Victoria Donahue-Carr, who has sometimes targeted, sometimes allied with Evan in the past, depending on the circumstances. In the past Evan has been mostly on his own, but gradually he’s collected a sort of family, people he cares about and who he can count on. If you love a great thriller then chances are you’ve probably already found the Orphan X Series but if you haven’t, I strongly recommend you make a point of picking it up!

We pride ourselves on low crime here, but an enterprise was taking advantage of our goodwill, using us as a transport from the EU to North America. who is trying to stop a trillion-dollar environmental bill that will not do anything for the environment but will get her re-elected. Readers will need to put a pin in this, for the narrative drifts to Iceland, where Evan Smoak, the former government assassin known as Orphan X, seeks serenity, or at least escape, in a desolate bar in the middle of nowhere. Bestseller Hurwitz melds non-stop action and high-tech gadgetry with an acute character study in this excellent series opener . I have read all of the books in this series, and have enjoyed each of them, some a little more than others.Gregg Andrew Hurwitz is one of my all-time favourite authors and I loved this 8th book in his "Orphan X" series! I can say so much that one part of the final chapter has a surprising twist for one of the most powerful people in the world.

Additionally, he’s written screenplays for or sold spec scripts to many of the major studios, and written, developed, and produced television for various networks.Michaelides seems also to be dipping into the world of Edgar Allan Poe, offering an unreliable narrator who feels more like a literary exercise.
