This too wanes, and what is left is a neutral sweet, ambery, not powdery but almost dusty base accord. Like I like powdery scents but this is almost straight up baby powder on me with some musk in the background. Chopard have since branched out into producing luxury fragrances; their perfume portfolio currently includes Casmir, Wish and Pure Wish.

With Casmir, I'm sitting here sniffing this card thinking about the reviews about a warm pie on a fall afternoon and vibing with it. I have to admit that I don't gravitate towards fragrances the prominently feature vanilla, so my nose may not be accustomed to smelling it without associating it with ultra sweetness. Coty only wishes and I adore Hanae Mori (fruiter) which is in the same playing field but not in this high league.

I think the flowers are what keeps the sweetness balanced (I'm looking at you, geranium and carnation).

Updated thoughts 5months on - my journey into trialling scents has developed a bit more since I wrote this. Not as spicy and dark as other Orientals of the Eighties/Nineties, but still very rich and luxuriant and with lots of vanilla. It's SO good, it brings up so many memories of my happy childhood, I feel butterflies and comfort when I smell it. I still have a version produced by Coty in 2015, and I confess I like the scent of the new one more because, as both my husband and I have noticed, it has a stronger dose of vanilla, which is fine by me!When you wear this you are surrounded by a cloud of vanilla so if you like vanilla you might like this.

It smells like if you opened up a box of Jello Vanilla Pudding and just smelled the mix, that's the scent that lingers. Because I am currently appreciating Casmir, I am thinking that I have written off something potentially wonderful due to my prejudice, and plan on fixing that soon. Maybe a bit too peachy body cream for some people however if it smells body cream it smells like a high end one! I have always been a vanilla/amber lover, and this to me, is a milkier, smokier version of Vanilla Fields, which has been in my usual rotation as a winter/spring daytime fragrance for thirty years. The lasting power is mid grade in my experience, lasts about 4 hours on myself, and tbh it transfers on everything.

Vanilla-dominant frags are not my thing but I had a sample of this and dutifully tried it just to scratch it off my list. I knew I was going to love this one even before I sniffed it just because of the bottle alone, but I had no idea that this fragrance would become a lifelong love affair and I never knew that a fragrance could change my life.

I like strong scents but find it overpowering, I do not really detect any of the top notes except maybe a little coconut. A very rich and warm vanilla is what stays on my skin, it's definitely on the heavy side of the spectrum but so rich! It’s supported by a silken canned apricot note, a lactonic bread-like note similar to Luten's Jeux de Peau and a hot plastic accord to make it inedible. I waited for the dry down, I did, but it only evolved into fruity engine oil, before finally disappearing in less than 2 hours. So as a kid I was hiding and occasionally smell it from the cap and I remember to secretly love this rich, warm, vanilla scent coming out of it.I’m going to try this again in the winter with just a small amount layered over my favourite softer vanilla scent and see if I can tolerate it better then on my skin 🤞. Pure happiness, yummy desserts, butterflies in your stomach, mommy's old powder box that you secretly played with.
