Accidents happen when a player places an item, and something falls from the building site onto the playable surface. With high quality components and an engaging theme, it’s easy to get carried away just watching others play. Balance and dexterity games are becoming more and more common, but for us at TGR that s definitely not a bad thing.

The building components and the meeples are all wood (well, minus those hats) and are smooth with no rough areas or imperfections. I love the aspect of the unknown in Men at Work, and even as someone who normally likes to have more control in games and doesn’t enjoy high amounts of luck in games, it totally works here for me. So, what do you play with your friends to fill the time that supports enough players, is easy to learn but not too simple and only takes about 30 minutes to play? Everybody impales the occasional pedestrian with a dropped beam, sometimes even as early as the first turn.

Although player elimination can work in games like Sub Terra, Men at Work is proof that sometimes, it’s a bad idea. The game includes three gaming modules to add loads of replayability, as well as wooden components housed within a well-designed insert for easy set up.

You’re allowed to move other pieces as you place your own, but only if you move them with the piece you’re trying to place. Sometimes it’s nice to play something that requires almost no thinking and strategy, and I love how just about anyone, of any age can play this, and do well. If you've not played a dexterity game, they are infuriatingly joyous and have you twitching with excitement and trepidation.Give each player two safety certificates, then make sure there’s a good supply of all of the pieces all around the table so they’re within reach of the players. Well, not so much – you’re going to be asked to do some things that are not quite standard building procedure. The production values are really high, even the box insert is perfectly formed to hold everything in place, with the worker meeples lined up like a little terracotta army. In these games, you want the central structure to grow, as it creates the stress response of not wanting to be the one to make it crash. You have to build off of what other people have built, and you’re often stuck with a task you don’t even want to do.
