Hoewel creativiteit en hun leven als muzikante en woordenaar de rode draad lijken te vormen, gaat het essay over de kunst van het leven. I probably can't and won't carry it around with me everywhere (can I tho) but I for sure will read it again and again.The only parts I found interesting (probably because they had some narrative cohesion and weren't just nebulous, jumbled streams of consciousness) were Tempest's own personal anecdotes, although these were generally brief and infrequent. We get so caught up in an ever-spinning consumerist hamster wheel that we neglect what is true within ourselves and one another. Through creativity, Kae has found some of the most important connections of their life – one that stands out in this book is a chance meeting with a homeless poet which left Kae with a total different view of their work and processes.

Kae raises some amazing points, there are some great moment of motivation, and there was nothing in the book I disagreed with. While some of their thoughts may not be new, they are surely worth repeating in this disconnected, distracted world.
