But what if the threat was already walking the Earth…hiding in plain sight…watching…waiting for their moment to strike… A mysterious new vampire lord has already put a plan in motion to conquer the Earth, and his horde are hunting on the streets of Gotham. When I saw this title I thought it can’t just be DC characters fighting, and some inevitably becoming, vampires can it - there has to be more to this than that, otherwise why do it? Deathstroke however was my biggest surprise here, the character is very well utilized, his plan is very cohesive with the character. It also makes for quite an interesting plot device, as the narrative shifts between the three independent missions all leading to the same goal.

Adam Strange, Peacemaker, Crazy Quilt, Killer Frost and Wild Dog are all killed by an ambush as they're making their way to a human sanctuary, Raven is bitten by Plastic Man and Negative Man is taken away by a vampiric Hawkgirl. The problem with DC vs Vampires compared to DCeased, DC Comics’ other big superhero apocalyptic-horror alternate universe, is that it lacks the humanizing and emotional connections. And the mystery that Batman needs to solve is who is their leader now that Mary, Queen of Blood is dead?

I think I'm too burned out after seeing the DC Universe destroyed by zombies in DCeased and its many spinoffs to really care how vampires go about their take on a horror apocalypse. Só larguei a publicação quando cheguei no fim da história, que não se encerra aqui, mas em um segundo volume a ser lançado pela Panini Comics Brasil. And while this does provide that, I think this does a better job of telling a great story about how all this craziness got brought on in the first place. A mysterious new vampire lord has already put a plan in motion to conquer the Earth, and his horde are hunting on the streets of Gotham.

The premise is downright silly, but dang if it isn't fun to read, if nothing else than just to see the vamp designs for some of the big DC hitters. Before belatedly realizing their folly, and getting ambushed by the rest of the League, some of whose members are already turned. The first time, Green Arrow, who's been testing him and other members of the Bat-family, considers Bruce capable enough to circumvent any test he can come up with. This series would be so much more interesting if that dumbass trope wasn’t the case here, like if the heroes who turned had to struggle with bloodthirst and the pain of killing friends and fellow heroes, but alas, it isn’t that at all. Taking place before the start of the second half, they focus on Damian Wayne and Harley Quinn, respectively, as they try to navigate this new world. It's the heroes of the DC Universe against the undead in an epic fight for the very survival of the human race!

Ambiguous Situation: Black Manta is among the supervillains that seemingly died during the attack on the Legion of Doom at the very beginning of the series and Aquaman later mentions he's disappeared yet he, or at least someone using his costume and identity, appears to be alive and well months after the vampires have conquered the world living among the surviving humans on Kandor. It's hero versus hero in this blood-drenched chapter…with clues to who the new Vampire King might be! Blessed with Suck: Being turned into a vampire does come with a significant power boost for most people and even most metahumans, but the traditional vampiric weaknesses are apparently stronger than any turned hero or villain's powers. Any death is either inevitable, in service of propelling the story forward, or to prove a point about the characters involved, so that's nice. It's paced quickly enough that there's little tedium, but there's also little to invest in characters written as archetypes. He is the co-creator of THE NICE HOUSE ON THE LAKE with Alvaro Martinez Bueno, the apocalyptic horror series published by DC Black Label.

While this book is nowhere near as good as DCeased and has a decent amount of plot holes, it is still incredibly fun. After that one pretty cool moment, logic just goes out the fucking window and splatters on the pavement below. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have a vampire fetish or NEED to see the DC Universe interacting with vampires. I also found the deaths that followed said reveal (and most throughout the series for that matter now that I think about it) to be more funny than sad (which is what I assume they were supposed to be), but whatfuckingever I can’t take superhero comics like this seriously anymore, they are so self-serious and stupid.Vampires: World War V is a sequel series that sees Barbara Gordon emerge as the Vampire Queen at a time when the world is just starting to recover from the previous series. For the lore some interesting points are brought up but I am unsure what they're gonna plan to do from here. But there is this whole twist when the JL confront them believing Bruce is Batman and Bruce feels the entire JL team has been turned so it leads to some interesting fight scenes I will say and trust me you're gonna enjoy reading them a lot.
