Bianca Pitzorno is considered the Italian Roald Dahl and has already been translated into many languages. I love it when that happens, and I stumble across a well-loved children's book I'd forgotten all about reading! But who believes in witches in the 21st Century and in any case who would want to marry the ghastly Alfonso? She decides to take that Smurf with her and warns Papa Smurf to turn himself in at Witch Haven or he will never see that little Smurf again. I would recommend this to fans of Halloween, witches, friendship, and those who are upset about being littler than others.

I enjoyed Massey's story, which, although it has "good" and "bad" witches, manages to paint both in a somewhat sympathetic light. In the Smurf Village, Papa Smurf warns his little Smurfs about being around Witch Haven Conservatory, which, although is dangerous, is the only place they can find witch hazel. My thoughts} – Wilma is a small witch and she is having trouble finding her place in the new Halloween celebration. A poor condition book can still make a good reading copy but is generally not collectible unless the item is very scarce. The positive, upbeat conclusion of the story here will offer such readers/listeners reassurance, and the page of stickers included at the rear will add another element of fun. The author, Bianca Pitfzorno, is a best-selling author in her home country of Italy, but is only now being translated into English.

Enough surreal subtlety to set it apart from other 'little witch girl' stories that used to be so popular. Will she find a way to take part – or is this little witch still too small to get her dream off the ground? Recommended to picture-book readers looking for sweet, rather than scary Halloween fare, and to any child readers who has felt sad about being the youngest or littlest of the group. She may be little, but Wilma knows this is the year she'll be able to fly with her family in the big broom-flying demonstration! Miss Snarly commends Magdalena's answer and warns her students that when they graduate, they are to stay out of the rain and never take baths. Learning that she does belong there, even though she is different from everyone else, is a great relief to the Littlest Witch. Miss Snarly uses her power to turn a cloud into an octopus that attacks Brenda, then a tree into a fire-breathing dragon.

After reading and enjoying two of Adrienne Adams' witchy Halloween tales - A Woggle of Witches and A Halloween Happening - despite finding the narrative of the second a little weak, I was curious to see what I would make of this, a witchy title illustrated by Adams, but written by someone else.

Brenda thought she was supposed to be bad, but Miss Snarly says she's supposed to be evil, that bad isn't good enough. Wilma the witch is so excited to participate in the broom flying demonstration for the Halloween Bash this year. The Nebula Award has been awarded to stories in the Science Fiction and Fantasy genre every year since 1966. From the New York Times bestselling author who brought us The Littlest Elf comes a sweet new Halloween story filled with gentle spooky fun and one adorable little witch friend! NOTE: Just today I actually read the 1959 edition, the edition that was originally read to my class by one of the school librarians and the same one I read for myself shortly after that.

Although the story is good and it’s an enjoyable read, I found the cast of characters in this book quite confusing – on many occasions.Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. Catnip is to publish two titles in 2018 translated from Italian, The Littlest Witch and Lavinia and the Magic Ring, with the latter title being illustrated by Quentin Blake. She has only been an official witch for three weeks, and she doesn't fit in with the other witches in her circle. This insults Brenda to the point where she uses her powers to change Brainy into a pig, who then goes squealing to Papa Smurf, who, at that point, is talking with Farmer.
