Bianca Pitzorno is considered the Italian Roald Dahl and has already been translated into many languages. I love it when that happens, and I stumble across a well-loved children's book I'd forgotten all about reading! But who believes in witches in the 21st Century and in any case who would want to marry the ghastly Alfonso? She decides to take that Smurf with her and warns Papa Smurf to turn himself in at Witch Haven or he will never see that little Smurf again. I would recommend this to fans of Halloween, witches, friendship, and those who are upset about being littler than others.

I enjoyed Massey's story, which, although it has "good" and "bad" witches, manages to paint both in a somewhat sympathetic light.
