There was a bit of a cliffhanger at the end, but I thought overall, the book wrapped up nicely, but it definitely sets up for book 2. I loved how Drake treated her as a sentient being from their first meeting and was so gentle with her, even though he broke his promise in the end. Cassius (or Casteelius Lazaro Da'Neer as I am referring to him) - who also goes by CAS are you even fucking with me right now - is the royal guard who just won’t quit.
