Description

I enjoyed this audiobook read by Stephanie Cannon. I was able to distinguish the characters without any problem. Male characters did sound funny like they are drunk and it took me a while to realize that wasn't the case. A marriage built on secrets, lies, and pure craziness leads to the ultimate betrayal in The Ex-Wife. So this was the sort of thing that I thought would be a good watch with my wife. We often struggle to find something that fits both our tastes but in the trailers it all seemed to be just the thing.... a b c Hoosen, Mo (25 April 2022). "Paramount+ Announces Further Casting for UK original series 'The Ex-Wife' ". Streamr . Retrieved 14 November 2022. This book provides a raw representation of domestic violence within a relationship (although it is not limited to just partners). I am also really glad that this book includes resources for different countries (UK, US, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand) within ‘A Letter from Jenna’.

On a trip to NC for a fishing thing(male pissing contest), she is planning to flee, but a situation presents itself that could be even more appealing.. This book was well-written with some twists and turns along the way. This was an interesting and fast paced read. Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own. This was my first read by Jenna Kernan and I'll definitely be looking into reading more of her work. The ending had a believable and interesting twist. There is something you will wonder about throughout the story and then it plays out later on. I did have a couple of questions about the end, but nothing that took away from the story. Jess has a gift with plot structures and twists. I was confused as to what was going on for about the first 30% of the book, but by 40% the book was just mind-blowing twist layered upon lies layered upon story developments. I was captivated! I was actually reading Jess’s blog and she has a fascinating piece about writing twists in psychological thrillers. With the FBI needing her to get evidence of his involvement in the missing children and her own daughters safety to consider Elena is going to need her wits about her.

Part of the allure of it and part of the challenge for me was that there are moments when we want the audience on side and then there are moments when you want the audience to question whether they are on the right side or not." It’s not a problem for him, so it can’t be a problem for her is his attitude. He and Jen were together for a long time and he feels that he can’t suddenly abandon her. That’s when you first see his temper and that he’s capable of digging his heels into the ground." This book will have you in a finger-pointing frenzy, accusing pretty much anyone and everyone. Who’s telling the truth? Who’s lying? Is anyone innocent in all of this? I can’t tell you how many times I changed my mind on who to trust. (Love that!) Thanks to Netgalley, the author (Jess Ryder) and the publisher (Bookouture) for a copy of the book. In this case Jenna Kernan informs readers that domestic abuse is never the victim’s fault and provided information for help in many countries: Canada, UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia.Another gaping plot hole is the fact that this child, who is one year old if that, is already at nursery? I think almost no parent would leave a child that young at nursery and this is made all the more confusing by the fact that Tasha is unemployed. Why does she need to leave her child at nursery, she's not working? What would you do if your soon to be husband's ex wife tells you he can't be trusted and not to marry him? Well, you chose love and marry him of course. What I liked about this book is that I was never really sure what was going on or how things were going to play out. I was addicted for the first 50%, but then things fizzled out a bit. I figured out the first major twist but was surprised by some others. There were certain revelations that were a bit of a letdown. I also was quite intrigued by Sam’s character and wanted to know more about him.

Great narration, perfect plotting, and a jaw dropping reveal, made for a very enjoyable listen (read). Thank you very much to NetGalley and the publisher, Bookouture for the opportunity to read this book! This novel consists of 35 chapters. The chapters are medium in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case! If you think your partner is still holding on to feelings they have for their ex, it can cause problems in your relationship even without you realizing it. That's why communicating your thoughts and fears, no matter how awkward of a conversation it will be, is important. If your partner is still talking to their ex and it bothers you, tell them. Don't downplay your feelings or write it off as jealousy. You deserve to be in a relationship with someone who's completely present and ready for all the great new things that come with being with you. For me it's not easy to put the plot into words as it's one you really need to experience yourself.

The novel has interesting twists and I like the ending. So, taking into account the story's virtues and faults, I'd say it's an average psychological thriller. Meanwhile Jen is classically creepy. A central casting stalker. She pops up in the supermarket, in the marital home, until we, not to mention Tasha, are prompted to ask: exactly how ex is the eponymous ex-wife? That’s about it, give or take. In these parsimoniously peopled stories no one seems to have a circle of more than one friend because the genre is about isolation. Two’s company, three’s a crowd, six is a loose baggy monster.

Kudos to Jess Ryder for writing this gripping psychological thriller that I just couldn't put down! Highly Recommend Natasha’s life seems perfect, I said “seems” because she has everything, a handsome husband who’s rich, a beautiful home and a lovely baby girl. But she can’t enjoy all of them because of her husband’s ex-wife, Jen. She is everywhere, Jen is the wife that her husband’s family like and she is in all their family gathering, always in touch with the husband. It’s like Jen still is his wife, not Natasha. One day when Natasha comes home he couldn’t find her daughter and her husband. She searches everywhere and asks everyone but no one knows anything. And still, there is someone who has to ask, Jen. Can she trust Jen? Does Jen know anything at all? And if she doesn’t so what’s happened to the husband and the baby girl? Although, I did guess one of the plot twists, the others were a pleasant surprise. Not all of the characters are likable in this book which worked perfectly for the plot. As I learned more and more about the secrets, lies and motivations of some of the characters, things did begin to make more sense. As great as it would be to start a relationship with someone who's a total clean slate, you're likely going to date someone who already has some kind of romantic history. Although the healthiest option is to let the past stay in the past, sometimes people will enter into a new relationships without being completely over an ex. So, how do you know if your partner still isn't over their ex? According to experts, there are some behaviors you may want to pay attention to. Thanks to #NetGalley, the publisher #Bookouture, and the author Jenna Kernan for allowing me the opportunity to read an ARC in exchange for my honest opinions.
